1st Recon: "The last thing they'll never see"

Motto: "The last thing they'll never see."
History:
Born out of Captain Raul Boone's need to address the blaring lack of any formalized sniper units, the Captain convinced his superiors to allow him special permissions, which they reluctantly granted. Boone quickly requisitioned a team of seven soldiers to mold into his protégés. Army HighCom didn't have high expectations for what they considered an officer's pet project, so they sent him the "rejects" of the crop. The misfit seven were put to the fire as soon as their transfer orders were put in.
They began following an intensive eight week training regiment. Formation at 0300, PT at 0330, followed by further marksmen and stealth confidence courses throughout the day. Over the course of the program the soldiers were further instilled with values they'd learned at Basic. Esprit De Corps, teamwork, and discipline were at the forefront of this new indoctrination.
At the end of the program the Seven were sent to Sniper School, and reassigned to the unit upon completion. Which given their prior training was a cakewalk. None failed.
After the success of the seven HighCom poured more funding in than Boone needed, allowing him to outfit his small unit with the best blasters and slugthrowers available. They've expanded greatly since their founding, averaging at about a hundred members at any given time. They're considered specialists on the field, providing precise fire or scouting deep behind enemy lines to gather needed intelligence.
Culture:
Because of the training required and the high amount of combat the unit sees, 1st Recon has evolved an extreme version of Esprit De Corps. These soldiers would die for one another at any moment without hesitation. Each of them wear a distinctive pin signifying their service within the unit and most can be found wearing some form of clothing with the 1st Recon emblem off duty. A very proud group indeed.
Equipment: The cutting edge of weapons and gear available to the Confederacy. With some that's not.
Tactics: Stalking, low crawling, relocating. Each member of 1st Recon is well versed in their trade and the reckless are almost always removed from duty. The unit demands excellence.
