GENERAL INFORMATION:
Group Name: The 19th Armored Line Battalion"Ironmaw Division"
Classification: Heavy Armor / Armored Assault
Affiliation: Darth Virelia / Fourth Legion

Description:

The Ironmaw Division is Virelia's steel sledgehammer—an armored battalion of rumbling tanks and scorched earth tactics. Its vehicles are obsidian-black behemoths, each painted with sigils of conquest and adorned with the jaws of broken war machines.

Ironmaw crews are tightly knit, deeply disciplined, and conditioned to wage war with overwhelming precision. Many wear their tank identification codes as tattoos. Their division emblem—a snarling metal beast with flame pouring from its mouth—adorns each hull like a promise:
resistance ends here.

UNIT INFORMATION

Unit Size:
Medium
Unit Availability: Uncommon
Unit Experience: Veteran

Equipment:

  • "Mauler"-Class Main Battle Tanks equipped with:
    • High-caliber plasma cannons
    • Twin-linked antipersonnel repeaters
    • Hull-mounted cryo-blasters or flamer arrays
    • Reinforced composite armor with thermal baffling
    • Mine-clearing prongs and reactive track armor
  • Support walkers and tracked supply crawlers
  • Integrated battlefield tracking and fire-control systems
  • Command tanks outfitted with long-range relay nodes
  • External loudspeakers for psychological warfare
Combat Function:
The Ironmaw Division functions as a front-breaking armored unit, designed to crack entrenched lines, destroy defensive emplacements, and dominate contested zones. Typically deployed following an artillery barrage or alongside combat engineers, they act as the armored core of an advance.

Their doctrine is simple: crush, isolate, annihilate.
Tanks move in staggered wedges, supported by infantry in their wake and artillery behind them. In siege conditions, Ironmaw tanks anchor forward firebases. In retreat scenarios, they act as rearguard bulwarks, punishing pursuit with overwhelming counterfire.

Force Abilities: N/A

Strengths:
  • Devastating Firepower: Mauler tanks can vaporize fortifications and enemy armor with plasma-based main guns and support systems.
  • Psychological Impact: The noise, visibility, and sheer brutality of their advance often breaks morale before lines are engaged.

Weaknesses:
  • Limited Mobility: Vulnerable in rough terrain, narrow canyons, or against aerial strikes without proper support.
  • Logistics-Heavy: High fuel, ammo, and maintenance demands. Can stall or lose effectiveness without sustained supply lines.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Ironmaw Division was born from fire. Formed in the wake of the First Siege of Blackmoor Crater, where mobile infantry failed to dislodge entrenched Velgrathi holdouts, Darth Virelia decreed the creation of an armored corps capable of breaking any defense.

Mauler tanks—refitted mining crawlers turned war engines—were forged in the Avarice Forge deep beneath Fort Avarice, their blackened hulls anointed with Sith sigils and blood rites. The first Ironmaw tank rolled out during the retaking of the Burnt Plateau, firing a single plasma shell that collapsed a command bastion. The battle lasted six hours. The enemy broke in two.

Since then, the Ironmaw Division has participated in every major campaign across Morrigal. Their crews are revered and feared in equal measure—some consider the tanks living things, possessed by wrathful spirits. Few who see them rolling across the skyline live to speak of it.

ARACHNEA ARACHNEA Another capable bunch, but I wish they'd turn down the loudspeakers when I'm trying to sleep.

Please add the appropriate links in Affiliation. Also, please add a link to a comparable canon or factory-submitted tank (good detail in the sub, but for PvP purposes a solid reference will avoid any Imperial entanglements); and some of the equipment might warrant links as well (such as the reactive armor).
