Transmission begins

Sitting at a desk, clad in the blue dress uniform of the Antarian Rangers, sits a man many in the galaxy have come to know as Beltran Rarr. Pinned on his chest, are the battle honors and medals of dozens of battles. His face, weathered and marked with scars from dozens of wounds, is set in a grim line while his deep green eyes are cold.

"Greetings," He begins in his trademark soft tone. "If you are receiving this transmission, it is because I have chosen to tell you of my impending departure from the Antarian Rangers. Months ago, we saw the final battle against the menace known as the Bryn'adul. With those vile and bloodthirsty creatures no longer threatening our existence, it is time for the galaxy to heal and for the scattered to find homes once more. And like them, it is time for me to find a new home as well."

"Nearly a decade ago, when then-Colonel Valkren Calderon convinced me to join the Antarian Rangers, I was little more than a hired killer. I'd never known peace, or safety, or family. While my time with the Rangers has been neither peaceful nor safe, it has taught me meaning of family. We Rangers were brothers and sisters, all dedicated to keeping the worlds of the Silver Sphere safe. Even when the Silver Council failed to accept the looming threat of the Bryn'adul, we fought to stem their tide. Even as our worlds fell, one by one, to their slaughter. We fought. On Yurb, Sarka, Sev Tok, Nar Kreeta and dozens of others. We fought."

"Yurb was my first real battle as an officer. It was the first time I had to worry about more than just myself. It was a place where I watched so many of my soldiers die. Our victory that day was paid for in blood. In the intervening years, I commanded Paladin Company as a Captain and then the 3rd Infantry as a Colonel. I am proud of my service and I am proud of the Rangers for having contributed so much to the galaxy's eventual victory. I am proud to have served beside talented and brave soldiers like Thirdas Heavenshield, a man that I have come to see become a fine commander in his own right. I have also had the pleasure of fighting alongside his father, Thurion Heavenshield and other powerful Jedi like Caltin Vanagor and his former apprentice Desbre Gensan. What I was part of during that time was something truly special. But now that threat has ended, I feel the need to take my leave."

"Since the final victory at Danuta, I have been on extended leave. I've travelled the galaxy and sought solace and understanding from the Force. And now I have come to the conclusion that the Antarian Rangers can no longer be my home. If I remain, I will never be anything more than a soldier-carrying out the orders of others. After all the years, I have come to find that I crave more than that. As such, I have tendered my resignation from the Antarian Rangers-effective immediately. In the coming days, I will depart Kashyyyk and head to the heart of the Eternal Empire where I will seek out their Empress, Ingrid L'lerim."

"Why her? That's hard to explain. In the past, I have been her ally and her enemy. In both cases, she has always acted with honor. When most of the major powers refused to consider the Bryn'adul a threat, she risked her life and gave up her freedom to bring the reality of the situation to the leaders of the galactic powers. She had foresight that the Jedi did not. Since that time, the Eternal Empire has accepted thousands of refugees."

"I cannot say for sure why the Force has led me to that place, but I intend to find out. Know that I hold the Silver Jedi in the highest regard and will never act as anything other than an ally to the Concord. It has been the pleasure of my life to serve and there is a part of me that is sad to see that go. All I can say is good luck, good hunting and may the Force be with you all."
