Today was a rather surprising day.
Nothing...
No tears, cries, or anything of that sort. It was just Aiden with a group of Naboo locals. What was usually marred with grief and sorrow as those spoke of their pains and the dark echoes of the past. People were healing, and doing the best that the could.
Filled with laughter, stories of hope and amusement as well. To which Aiden was laughing around three quarters of the entire meeting. Enough to go through several snacks and the standard tray of cookies that he had brought today. Amongst the laughter and the smiles on the faces of those gathered, the Jedi Padawan's brow furrowed a bit as he glanced towards the door. Standing there was a woman, holding her daughter, almost three months old now she would be. "Excuse me one moment." Aiden recognized her right away as he stood up and made his way towards her. Her name was Dalia and her husband was part of Shiraya's Hope, unfortunately he was one of the ones who's lives were lost from his Fathers group of soldiers.
"Hey, Dalia....is everything alright." Everyone dealt with grief in their own ways, as he looked upon her. Eyes red, watering....she had been crying.
She shook her head and tried to find a smile. "No, that's okay. I'm just......" She trailed off as she looked to the side for a few moments.
"I know......." Aiden acknowledged after a moment and he glanced back inside the room as those inside were starting to pick things up. As the meeting was already coming to an end. Aiden looked back as he showed a small smile. "Do you wanna talk? There's still-"
She cut him off abruptly, as she spoke through a small sob, before regaining her composure. "You know.....I want to hate your father. But I know my husband chose this life. He was protecting all of us, just like every other person who agreed to follow Kahne. I've tried to let that go, but its so hard." Her baby started to get fussy a little bit, a cry or two. She gently as any mother would, soothed her baby with a few words as she rocked gently back and forth. She looked to Aiden and tried to smile.
"It's not fair, I can't tell your father this. Because he's gone, so now you have to hear it from me. And now you have to shoulder this."
Aiden just stared at her, the smile had faded and it was filled with a look of remorse and sorrow. Aiden knew the truth, but he wasn't going to speak it now, he wasn't going to put her in her place. He just took the abuse, because she was in pain. And if he was the punching bag, then so be it.
She wanted to say the words, you could tell. The entire population of Naboo could tell if they were standing here witnessing this.
"I hate you.....for taking him from me....." She tried to hold it in, but the words were said. And thus the apology came, and then she walked away. "I-I'm sorry Aiden....."
Aiden stood dumbfounded, he stared as she walked away and disappeared around the hallway. He wasn't sure what to say or what to think about for a few moments as he still stood there, just staring down the hallway.
