This is a national broadcast within the Imperial Commonwealth of Dosuun. Dated 907 ABY
LIVE FROM QOSANTYRA
"Decades ago," Ivalyn began, her voice steady and measured, "a single warship stood against the collapse of civilization."
Across the Commonwealth, holoscreens flickered to life as the broadcast reached homes, command centers, ship bridges, and orbital platforms alike.
"The Imperial remnants had been scattered among the stars, and the enemies of order believed that the Imperial ideal had reached its end."
She paused briefly.
Her gaze shifted toward the bronze likeness of the Grand Moff standing beside the podium. The sculpted relief, soon to be mounted within the nation's new flagship, depicted the historic Concordia in the moment of its greatest resolve.
"They were mistaken."
"From the bridge of her flagship, Grand Moff Natasi Fortan chose to stand where retreat would have been easier."
Another pause followed, deliberate, allowing the weight of the words to settle across the broadcast.
"The Grand Moff held the line."
The image shifted.
Across the Commonwealth's screens appeared a bronze depiction of the Concordia, broadcast live from the Dosuunian city of Victoria, where its likeness stood within the National Cemetery. The memorial had long served as a place of reflection and instruction, reminding visitors of the legendary stand that had preserved the worlds that would one day become the Commonwealth.
"The ship she commanded bore a name that would become legend," Ivalyn continued.
"Concordia."
"In unity, strength."
The broadcast transitioned once more.
The Pasha's image shifted aside as the orbital shipyards above Dosuun filled the screen. Construction lights ignited across the skeletal superstructure suspended in orbit, illuminating the immense framework piece by piece.
The growing silhouette was unmistakable.
A Star Destroyer, yes, but larger, broader, crowned with expanded command structures and dual carrier decks. This was not merely a warship designed to fight.
It was a vessel built to command fleets.
"The Commonwealth as we know it today exists because that line held," Ivalyn continued, her cadence unwavering.
"The worlds behind that battle survived."
"And from those worlds… our civilization was rebuilt."
As her words carried across the broadcast, viewers saw the rising hull of the new vessel in full clarity. Cargo haulers drifted toward the shipyard structure, guiding immense hull sections into position.
The Pasha's voice continued over the unfolding image.
"Today the Commonwealth honors that legacy, not merely with memory, but with purpose."
The broadcast cameras captured the vast logistical effort now underway. Components arrived from across the Commonwealth: Armor plating forged on industrial worlds such as Vengler, Tholon, and Lotho Minor. Sensor arrays and electrical systems produced on Seoul, Shuraden, Najarka, and Borlov.
A ship built by many worlds.
The image slowly transitioned back to the Pasha herself.
Ivalyn Yvarro stood once more before the cameras.
"This vessel will be assembled above Dosuun," she explained, "yet it will not belong to Dosuun alone."
"Every world of the Commonwealth will contribute to her construction."
"Every citizen will share in her legacy."
Her tone remained calm, deliberate.
"The Concordia was never merely a warship."
"It was, and remains, a promise."
Beyond the broadcast platform, starfighters traced silent patrol patterns across the sky. In orbit above the planet, dozens of Commonwealth warships held position in solemn formation.
Ivalyn's gaze returned to the camera.
"A promise," she said, "that when all else fails… we will hold the line."
A secondary image appeared in the corner of the broadcast feed.
A camera drone glided slowly across the dark armor plating of the partially assembled hull. Floodlights swept across its surface, revealing for the first time enormous illuminated letters across the vessel's spine.
CONCORDIA
The inset image faded as Ivalyn spoke the final words of the announcement.
"The Imperial Commonwealth Navy will henceforth designate its vessels under a new prefix. No longer merely ships of Dosuun… but ships of the Commonwealth itself. The vessels of our fleet will bear the title: Imperial Commonwealth Vessel." She allowed the words to settle across the broadcast. "Today we lay the keel of the first ship of a new class. A flagship built not for conquest, but for stewardship. A guardian of the Commonwealth."
Her voice carried clearly across every screen in the nation.
"On this day…"
"We name her the I.C.V. Concordia."
