It was fitting for what today was. Elian didn't stand close, that was the last place he wanted to be. They didn't blame him, it wasn't his fault. That was what he heard over and over, several times. Too many times to be truthful. So much that he believed they were just telling him that so he didn't feel so guilty.
The rain came down steady, it hit his coat and slowly rolled off, before it became enough to start seeping through. That was until cover came over him in the form of an Umbrella, carried by this Father and Mother. A hand reached his shoulder, the reassuring touch, a gentle squeeze that came from his mother. Words were spoken, some talked in length about them. Funny, clever, smart, and everything else in between. Elian was numb to it all, as he stood from afar, the only comfort that came to him was that of his parents. But even then that didn't provide as much as he hoped it would.
If he would have had it his way, he would have traded places with them in a heartbeat. That wasn't how this worked though, he was at the very least smart enough to know that.
He looked at Tressa from a distance, offering what he hoped was a smile, but maybe was something less than that. His hand slowly raised giving a small wave. She smiled back, a small one and waved. It wasn't happy, just simple and understanding. He heard her family was leaving Naboo, perhaps it was too much for her. Just like it was too much for him.
He knew he couldn't sit in those classes, face the emptiness of the seats. Face the other students, staring at him like he was about to break or shatter. Maybe he was....
What was once a place of fun for him, was now just a graveyard for him. Chill, cold and empty....
He didn't know when the slow tears began to form. He hated it, he didn't want anyone to see him cry. That wasn't him, but every since that day. All he wanted to do was cry. Gods, he hated being alone. He hated that feeling, more than anything else.
He simply turned, burying his head into his fathers shoulder. He just prayed that whatever awful way he was feeling right now. He hoped it would pass soon.
