I regret being unable to attend this year's anniversary, thoroughly besieged as I am with kingly duties. I pray this humble recording will not earn any ire from either of you, but it is the best I can do under the circumstances. Though I cannot see you, I need only close my eyes and picture the two of you, lost in endless desire and devotion. It is a joy to behold, and a kind of deep-sated love I have a great deal of experience with.

Worse, had I succeeded, I would have denied the woman by your side her true love. You are His worst failure, and our greatest victory. I look at you and see none of the creature I've hunted all my life, but a good, decent man.
Cherish the time you have, both of you. Etch into memory every moment spent, good or bad. Decades will go by in the blink of an eye.
The love I hold for the two of you knows no bounds. You've given me so much. You've given me grandchildren whom I adore. You've given me hope, and restored my faith in life being worth living.
