I write this declaration with a heavy heart and heavy hand, regardless of what those around me may see.
Not long ago, Queen Anavi Valoren was a live, healthy woman carrying a daughter within her womb. She was happy, loving, and carefree, enjoying both the joys of motherhood, and her studies at the Academy of Science and Medicine. She loved the people of Lazerian very much, and I know that she would have continued to help manage the kingdom well.
A declaration was previously made that Queen Anavi died in childbirth. This is only a half truth. As I said, she was perfectly healthy leading up to the birth of Princess Serenya. The full truth is that she was murdered. She was discovered, while I was away, unresponsive within the Royal Manse. It was determined by medical staff that she had passed, but that the Princess was still alive, and so she was born by surgical means. During this, blood was collected from the Queen, and it was determined that a neurotoxin was present.
I made the decision to not reveal that to the populace at large because I had hoped that it would lead to the people responsible becoming overconfident and making a mistake. The result of this was the bombing that took place at the Queen’s visitation which took the lives of numerous innocent people who were only paying their respects, though was undoubtedly targeted at myself, the Prince and the Princess. My attempt at maneuvering them against themselves failed, and for that I apologize to all who were injured or lost someone as a result. I bear the responsibility of the attack.
The Obsidian Syndicate orchestrated these events, but not without someone else guiding them. There is a force at work on Lazerian that is maneuvering to take control of the throne by the eradication of Aereena’s descendants. The syndicate is just a hired hand. These same people have tried at least five times now to kill me, beginning with the attack that claimed the lives of my parents. I know they’re out there, I know they’re close.
From now on I will be hunting them down with intent. I will find them, and I will employ any resources at my disposal to do so. Even the assistance of galactic governments will be called upon in this. The people responsible for this will be discovered, and they will be dealt with accordingly. As the King of the Kingdom of Devit, I will not stand for people attempting to steal the throne, to threaten my people, let alone my family. This will end and it will end soon. And if you see this, know this: I will not go easy on you regardless of my stance as a Jedi. This is being undertaken as a King and a King alone.
