Edict of Succession and Guardianship
Issued from the Throne of Devit
By the authority vested in the Crown of Devit, it is with solemn voice and heavy heart that we proclaim the passing of His Majesty Caelan Aereen Valoren, King of Devit, who has departed from this mortal realm and entered into eternal rest. May his memory endure as long as the stars shine above our world.
In the matter of his heirs and their welfare, the Crown decrees that the royal children of His Majesty Caelan Valoren shall be entrusted into the care and guardianship of Lady Corazona Von Ascania, who is hereby charged to raise, educate, and protect them until such time as they may come of age to bear the duties of their lineage.
In the matter of succession, it is declared that should Kita Valoren, rightful heir of the bloodline, not reappear to claim her place within the lawful span of time, the governance of Devit shall not pass into disarray, but shall be held in trust by a duly appointed Steward, who shall rule in the name of the Crown until the matter of succession is resolved by blood, by law, or by decree of the High Council of Devit.
Let this Edict stand as the word of the Crown, binding and unshakable, until the heavens decree otherwise.
