The dual doors were shut and Cassian Abrantes took a seat next before his father.
"First thing is the security of our home and the people that are within it. I will see to it that our household guard numbers are increased. We will run background checks, cross reference with all database to ensure these individuals whom protect us are completely trustworthy. And this will be the standard going forward, for anyone who we employ within our house. Furthermore, the training and safety of those that protect us is indeed paramount. They will be provided with more than enough training, they will be required to submit through all standards of basic trainings within the Royal Defense Force before they are brought on board. And they will be brought before you to ensure of their validity."
Cassian gave a quick and respectful nod, as he watched him sign documents secure them with House Abrantes Seal and continue to move things about.
"This Veruna, what do you make of him."
"I don't trust him." Cassian said quickly enough, he shook his head lightly. He wasn't sure what it was, just the sound of his name drew him into a slight ire.
"I know all about your squabbles and distrust of him. Sibylla is strong, smart and wise. She is in this position because she can handle it. She will be able to handle Veruna on her own. However because of these events we will have our most Elite members of our house protecting her at all times. And that act is put forth for the rest of us. Her safety is paramount, I feel that it is wise that you no longer accompany her on these diplomatic missions."
"Father!" Cassian spoke up incredibly quickly and with an increased defiance. "Who else better to look after her than her own broth-"
"That's precisely why you will not." He cut him off quickly and firmly. "You are as you have stated, her brother. Your judgment can become clouded when it comes to her."
"Father..." Cassian shook his head as he stood up, placing his hands on the desk. "I beg you to reconsider this, my judgment is as sound as it can be. I haven't rise through the ranks of the RDF beca-"
"It's done!" Alistair sat back in his chair. "Sit down, Cassian."
The General let out a sigh, as he did as he was instructed. This was one of those times that he clearly didn't have any choice or say in the matter. Cassian rest his arms on the arm rest as he simply nodded.
"There is one more thing....." Alistair voiced, with a slight hesitation to his voice. Which in all truth completely surprised Cassian on all accounts.
