Aruza, a planet that had become a corrupt and decadent society in the last few years. Corporations now controlled the world, governments were merely figureheads charged with peacekeeping between the corporate lords. People were pawns in a game of numbers, debts formed shackles that kept the working class enslaved.

However, whispers in the underground speak of a force called the “Starlight Union”. They were a group of strange outsiders who spoke of a religion from the fringes of space. Their priests spoke of a scripture that shunned the destructive practices that have polluted the land. A return to nature that promised prosperity and equality to all, a call that proved too sweet for many to ignore.

Citizens across the system all talked in hushed tones about the strangers fighting to free them. They were even assured of a safe home offworld if they so desired one. Some had already made the pilgrimage into space, though it was hard keeping in contact with them, a need for discretion the strangers called it.

The Aruzans didn't want to simply leave the planet though, they wanted to take their home back! They asked the conspirators from the stars to assist them. To teach them the ways of combat, how to remove the corrupt men and women behind their debts.

These armored warriors from afar obliged, meeting in their secret churches to train the workers and provide them with supplies. Many obtained admittedly outdated Imperial-pattern weapons and explosives, supplemented by the strange biological weapons of their allies.

So now the stage is set, and embers of rebellion glow in the shadows of Aruza. These embers are set to start a great conflagration, one that will burn away the evils of the masters. It will make way for The Great Design, as the gods intend. Under the yoke of tyranny these workers toil, eagerly awaiting the day the strangers return.

Before their departure they gave a promise that the skies would soon be filled with living vessels. The songs of their ships would be as deafening as the cries of their ancient gods. This proclamation came from the leader of the strangers, a woman who spoke with both fire and devotion. In time, the strangers would ignite the world of Aruza…
