A lesson from the History of Witches, collected by Brooke Waters.

So, for the Book of Tides, and probably the larger community of our kind, sisters… I’ve found an ancient manuscript, written in charcoal on paper. But preserved with the Force. A testament of our magick in the Force. A summoning spell. Similar to what the Blue Corals already do with our spears and lances. And the Nightsisters have made popular through smaller weapons.

I’ve copied what was translated into modern Basic here. Forgive the gaps, but I did focus heavily on the requirements of the spell.

To summon a weapon.
Witches need very little. We are one with Dathomir, the Ichor, the Magick. But there are times, more in the future, and far in the past, where weapons are needed.

We are wanderers, vagrants, and make our statement with the Force.

Lightsabers…

Combating them requires more.

A weapon, imbued with the right spell, can stop even those blades, from the Jedi, and the Sith.

Our clans each have their own skill, and type of weapon, from bows to swords, to staves. This spell will work for all, once the right connections are made.

Taking a small tool, or charm, one can push the Force into it to cause it to shift. The ritual is fairly complicated at first, requiring a potion made of ichor and waters of the planet, dirt from the Witches home area, and vial of their own blood. The chant and spell is below. A knife, cerimonial or working is used and placed in the potion. The witch must wait a lunar cycle to imbue this with enough power to work.

There is an expansive spell, with weekly sacrifice of blood, water, and soil to a cauldron to keep the spell active during the month. The caster must remain in attendance and focused on the cauldron, alone. A meditative trance occurs, but as this creates a weapon, it does drain the caster for the month, causing a life-or-death connection to the weapon created.

The caster is able to shape the weapon, but it tends to lean into whatever the user favors, be it a staff, trident, sword, or other weapon.

Once the first transference of spirit and blood are made, the weapon can easily shift with a spell and motion, becoming the weapon the Witch needs in time to use.

I must express true caution, sisters, as this leans heavily into the dark Ichor, the land of the Nightsisters, however, it is worth it for the warriors of the Allyan clans to have at their disposal…

With the warning it ends. This seems to be something much different than the weapons bestowed upon warriors by clan elders. But it is no less deadly.
