APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY:
Young and spry, Gida is a agile Twi'lek with a thin frame. She may not be as good looking as most of her species, but she's small and quick enough for any combat. Her clothing is simplistic and rather basic, leading many to believe she should be one of the Jedi order, rather than the many she has trained in.

BIOGRAPHY:
Controversial Birth:
Aboard an old freighter making runs in the outer rim, a young couple on the run from Nar Shaddaa made a discovery. After the smuggler had used every trick he knew to smuggle the woman he loved from a crime lord's palace. After weeks with the former dancer as a part of the ship, the crew set down on Tatooine for a rest. The couple spent the time together as much as they could, drawing the smuggler teasing remarks about their relationship. After all, the pilot couldn't care more for a dancing girl than his faithful ship, right? After the few short weeks were over, the captain of the ship, as part of his procedure, had every member of the crew go through a series of health tests at the hospital, just to be sure something didn't carry through the crew. But this checkup would change the crew of this little ship forever.

A single sheet of flimsi lay on the dejjarik table as the crew stood around. Each took their turn to read it, and each stood in silence as they thought on what to do. In the corner, the young dancer sat crying, refusing the comfort her lover was trying to offer. As each man reached his own conclusions, the captain turned to the pilot. Without a word, the man rose and walked to the table. The crew was split. On one hand, they were glad to see the happiness of their companion. On the other, this was another expensive piece. Each man had to get by. And none of them wanted to pay this. As they stood, debating on what to do, each man slowly began to fall silent as they noticed that only one of them had not spoken. The smuggler, their pilot, stood, silent, a tear rolling down his face. "I will pay for it." He said at long last, crying. Even if it means I starve." The captain rested a hand on his shoulder. Looking at the young Twi'lek as a father to a son, he sighed.

"You will not starve." Each man at the table nodded their agreement. Each knew how much this meant to their pilot. And no man wanted to see him gone. He was the best in the sector, after all. After ruining his most profitable contract with the hutt to get her out, he would stand to keep her safe. And so each member of their crew fell silent as they thought to their loves. And so it was decided. They would stay.

A Mystic Childhood:
As time passed, the crew began to accept and even care for the couple as they readied for the child to be born. As each bit of information was revealed to the crew, everyone became more and more excited. Gida Toqema entered the world in the cargo hold of an old freighter. As th crew gathered around, they listened as her mother named her. Gida. Warrior.

As she grew in the ship, she began to help around the ship. As she worked, the crew began to notice she was different. When she helped the mechanic, the tools he asked for seemed to appear in her hand. She could almost guess what would happen around her. Her reflexes were abnormal. Everything about her was fast. Eventually, her father had her sent to a friend of his, fearing what most of the crew had assumed. She turned out positive for Force sensitivity.

As soon as they stopped in the next spaceport, two men in armor asked to take her from them. Afraid for the safety of the crew, the captain relented, much to the dismay of the entire crew. They all wanted to keep the child, but what had been done was irreversible. Little Gida was now a member of the Jensaarai.

The Footsteps of the Defender:
Angry at her friends and family for abandoning her, Gida began to train as a lightsaber duelist. She poured herself into the study of the weapon, seeing it as a way to vent her emotions at her fellows. While she was an expert at the weapon from the start, her instructors knew that is was dangerous to teach her the fearsome and powerful seventh form, the knowledge of it's existence was kept from her as much as possible. Learning quickly, she became one of the best duelist in the Order, even beating the Order's best Defenders on occasion. But the girl was reckless, harsh, and even downright cruel to some of her fellow apprentices. After the construction of her lightsaber, she began spending all her time training with it. Nothing managed to pull her from the training grounds. She didn't want to learn the Force. "I have my saber. Why does it matter?" Fed up and annoyed, her master delivered her a force push, which sent her flying through the air and slamming her into the wall. As she collapsed in pain, he said one thing from behind the Nexu-shaped mask.
"I hope you learned your lesson."

Angry, she began to plot leaving. There was a point when the Ring Defenders weren't ready to intercept a leaving ship. Sneaking aboard a docked ship heading to complete a smuggling run to Alderaan. But there was a bit of an accident in the hyperspace jump. The ship landed on Mustafar, badly damaged and in need of repairs. Slowly, day by day, she worked to repair it with the ship from what she could salvage. But before she could complete it, a group of bandits struck, managing to kill most of the ship's crew and wounding the rest. Unable to get them help, the girl was forced to watch them die. Swearing vengeance, she began to hunt them down.

House of the Fallen Paladins:
As she sought to destroy the group who had killed the people she had been trying to save, she found an unlikely group of allies. Calling themselves the Blackguard, they promised her the vengeance she wanted in return for one thing: all the information she could provide on the Jensaarai. She gladly agreed, and eventually was sworn in as an elite minion. As she finally began searching for those who had wronged her, she started to see that her fellows were darker than she liked. After facing off with them a couple of times, she decided to leave. Both sides agreed, and she headed off on her own, a freelance saber duelist.
