- The carapaces of the Orbalisk are extremely durable able to withstand most forms of weaponry including Lightsabers, blasters, and even ballistic weapons.
- In return for feeding on the darkside from the user the Orbalisks pump adrenal and healing enzymes into the wearers system allowing them to achieve great feats of strength, speed and healing.
- Due to the enzymes and acidic secretions of the Orbalisks the users experience a boost in their use of the darkside.
- Between the large amount of adrenals and pain one will be incredibly moody or angry in general when wearing this armor.
- It is near impossible to remove the Orbalisk, even trying to cut the skin off is ineffective.
- Upon death the Orbalisk will release a toxin capable of killing the host.
- Orbalisk while resistant to many forms of damage are susceptible to electricity, usually in the form of force lightning.
- Due to the orbalisk being unsightly it is near impossible to blend into a crowd.
- As the orbalisk are of the darkside one constantly emits a dark aura that others can pick up on.
- Without a helmet the orbalisk will eventually grow over the hosts face smothering them in their sleep.

Journeying to Dxun with his fellow Warlord Barash, Xis intended on acquiring power in one way or another. Word of a great creature had been bestowed upon him by the goddess of strength, Sera. Passing the knowledge on to his brother in war Barash the two set out with a new hope and goal. Dxun was a jungle world yet the presences of two masters of the darkside repelled the creatures of the jungle moon. Upon reaching the ancient tomb of Freedon Nadd things took a turn, their dark presences worked against them as the swarm of Orbalisk fell upon the two latching on to their bodies. The two were baptized through pain and agony emerging as abominations.
Orbalisk armor is not common in the galaxy so the appearance seems archaic and easily gives away the host making it near impossible for them to blend in a crowd. Even in robes the misshapen lumps of the carapace shell can be seen. With this comes the fact that now just about any force sensitive can sense out the host due to the sickly dark aura they generate. A flaw that Xis and Barash soon learned of was that the Orbalisk never ceased growing and if precautions weren't taken could kill them forcing the two to wear helmets to protect themselves. The last bit of knowledge that had been bestowed upon them was that they'd forever have to be cautious of the ability Force lightning as it can kill the orbalisk causing them to inject a lethal poison that kills the host.
There are many benefits to the orbalisk armor but any that has witnessed or studied them is more than aware of the capabilities. One such being a great increase in the speed and strength of the host. Along with this comes a healing factor capable of healing break and even some fatal of course these take longer periods of time.
