BIOGRAPHY:
Wirch was born to a couple who worked in the mines in Vastitas on Relovian. His mother had to work almost immediately after he was born and she died in an accidental cave-in soon after he was taken into the work force. His father was killed in a surprise attack by the Red Strikers slightly after Wirch's mother had died. However Wirch had never been aware of these occurrences as at the time he was too young to fully understand and he was kept busy with the work. He was about 6 when he was first taken into the mining forces, in accordance with the regulations of the Durasteel Fist.

At the age of 9 he had been working for three years, mostly on repairs to large mechanical equipment and mining in the gems mines. He was 10 when he was forced to try and fix a low riding speeder, it had been his first time above ground, his first time being told what to do by someone that wasn't a commanding officer, and the first time he had had to try and fix a speeder. He didn't know what he was doing and ended up damaging the speeder further. He was given five lashes from a whip that was made to rend flesh from bone. Those kinds of whips were only supposed to be aboard battle-platforms for disciplinary uses, but somehow the man had managed to get one. Wirch had been left out in the open, bleeding from the wounds he had obtained. The air stung his lungs, the light blinded him, and the pain immobilized him. He was picked up by a group of Durasteel Fist soldiers who were patrolling the plains for spies. The patrol took the hurt boy to a medical facility on the surface. While the boy recovered the leader of the group continued to check in on him. He was interested in the young boy and decided later to adopt the boy. During the time that he was healed, the man that had used the whip on Wirch had been caught and had met his doom at the end of a firing squad.

For the next couple of years, until the age of 17, Wirch was part of the 'protection' companies that patrolled the surface and secured the mining stations. He was taught how to read and write and his life became much more comfortable and more disciplined than as a mine worker. His adopted father had kept him protected from the majority of danger spots in the areas, regions where rebellions often took place. However at one point Wirch had disobeyed orders and had taken a few of his men into a danger location and he fought a number rebels. During the battle, Wirch lost a number of his men but he had continued fighting eventually defeating the rebels. He lost half of his company and returned to the base to be court-marshaled.

He was given a dishonorable discharge from his father, but soon after he left he was taken by one of the battle council men of the Durasteel Fist. Apparently the council member required some new recruits and Wirch was to be one of them. He was given command of one small battle platform, at the age of 20, and was ordered to collect information on a Red Striker battle platform. For many years after Wirch wondered why he had been chosen right after his dishonorable discharge, but he never learned why. His first mission was a success as he and his men actually boarded the larger battle platform and were able to hold it until they brought it back to the Durasteel Fist's scientists.

For the next 24 years, Wirch's exploits would become well known and his prestige would grant him a fairly large battle platform. It was on this new ship, named Standing Pride, that he would experience his first miserable failure. He had the ships that were with him made to appear like the old naval vessels of ancient history, very nostalgic. He had a flotilla made up of his Standing Pride, four small battle platforms, and three troop carriers. His mission was to slow the forward advance of half a dozen advanced battle platforms of the Red Strikers. The attempt was doomed to fail, but he faced it willingly saying, "If this be our last stand, then let them taste the sting of our last breath."

During the fight Bicket's troop transports were destroyed before they could land their marines on the enemy platforms. The majority of his ships were destroyed and his ship was attacked directly by the flagship of the enemy. He could see the enemy captain aboard the other vessel as laser fire rained down upon his men. It was Fate's touch that saved him from any of it, he was sure. He watched as the captain yelled to Wirch for surrender. Wirch yelled back, "Surrender?! When the hand is in my favor! Never!" He would then walk to his deck officer telling him in conversation tone to prepare the men for evacuation.

As the ship was destroyed, he and what was left of his men jumped from the ship. Wirch had had his men jump from their ship right onto an enemy deck. As soon as they landed, Wirch jumped forward with his men behind him. He fired his weapons and fought with his blade from there. He took a number of wounds from blasters and blades. Just from the surprise the enemy was overrun and the troops were able to take the platform and run, but the platform was damaged and fell soon after. Wirch and his men were said to have died and that there were still four battle platforms on their way.

But Wirch was not dead, and neither were his men. He and his men had survived the fall and the crew of the enemy had mostly survived as well. Wirch had taken a blaster shot from the side across his face, and both his surgeon and the enemy's worked hard and long to stabilize him before repairing what damage they could. When the repairs they could do were finished, Wirch had a very different appearance, facially.

Having the word of the surviving crew that they would work for Wirch, he had all the men under his command work to repair the battle platform. It took little over two days with everyone working as if death was on them. The platform was in the air and caught up with the other four before they reached their final destination. The final battle ensued and while he lost the battle, Wirch crippled the enemy forces with his surprise attack. He was taken prisoner and held for a year before a cartel could be reached with the Durasteel Fist for transfer of prisoners. He was given a 'reprimand' for failure, however he was welcomed whole-heartily by the people, becoming a war hero in the people's mind. He accepted a new billet in the special battle platform commanders, and also he was galactic relations minister.

His eventual plans are to take the command of his officer's special part of the corporation. He wishes to become head of the foreign trade network for the Durasteel Fist.
