SPECIAL FEATURES:

Counterintelligence Suite: Located at the top of the station, the CI Suite houses naval intelligence officers, as well as FOSB agents. Together the two departments work together to keep the First Order safe by keeping their ears to the ground. Gathering information, analyzing it and sending encrypted reports back to Avalonia. The suite is only accessible by members of both communities, through a security lift and biometric scans. CI often works closely with the science and tactical departments to coordinate information and intel strikes, when necessary.

Military Coordination Center: The MCC resides just below the CI Suite and is where much of the regional (planetary) forces are coordinated from. Here officers and crew work to monitor all military activity working closely with the CI Suite above. The MCC also serves as the combat center for the Watchtower-class, where the station’s commander may organize and coordinate offensive and counteroffensive strikes. The MCC also houses, strategic operations, tactical suites, and the captain’s ready room. The chief tactical officer’s office can also be found here as well as the executive officer’s office.

Customs and Traffic Control: Before descending down to the planet, all personnel are required to report to Customs, which as it happens shares a few sections of the Watchtower with Traffic Control. Traffic Control monitors traffic going to and from the planet. They also have the right to stop any vessel and warrant a search (outside routine inspections) should they feel it a necessity, the order for inspection may also come down from the MCC. Custom agents are to ensure that those going to and from the planet not only have a reason for being there, but also the proper paperwork. Citizens need only to show their valid First Order identification holosmart cards, and those who are not Citizens must show their visas, as well as intergalactic pass. They must then wait to be verified by their homeworld/government.

Medical Bay: Takes only one half of a section and acts more as an urgent care facility than anything else. It houses approximately eighteen beds nine on one side, nine on the other with the central part of the medical bay working as the lobby. An imaging suite, biological labs, and nurses station also take up part of the Medical Bay. If someone requires something more or even less urgent they can be directed to be the nearest medical facility or first aid station when needed. Med Bay will not refuse service to anyone, regardless of species.

Cafeteria/Mess Hall: Sits in the other half of the otherwise Med Bay occupied section, here all travelers, crew and officers may receive their meals while on a Watchtower-class station. Menus are available in over forty-five languages, you need only to speak to the holocomputer which will then translate the Avalonian Basic into your language. This dining facility does its best to be aware of the wide array of diets within the First Order and will accommodate non-human species if they’re able to.

Promenade: First Order approved vendors bring their wares, competing against state run companies to provide visitors and crew an array of products and services. The promenade is where relaxation occurs, and many find that even walking about can be relaxing. It usually offers spectacular views of whatever particular planet the station class might be over.

Dormitories: Officers and crew of these stations reside in the dormitories, with enlisted sharing four to a room and officers two to a room. Senior staff have their own rooms and typically reside at the end of any particular hall to keep the lower echelons in line. Each hall is joined by a mutual day room which provides access to the lift, as well as laundry services, and personnel services as requested by the presiding RA Officer of that hall (typically a senior officer).

Overnight Rotunda: Where guests and passengers may rest for a night or two, there are no permanent civilian accommodations as many are expected to press onward to the planet. Thus most rooms are very small and hold only enough room to sleep and perhaps eat a snack or two. A joint latrine and shower made for efficiency rather than luxury encourages guests to do what they to do and move on.

The Centre: Houses fitness facilities, hygienic services such as dry cleaning, barber shop, nail salon (operates within First Order military standards), and a dental office. It also houses the commissary, base exchange, and holosuites. The Centre also provides continuing education programs, leadership courses and a library. This part of the station is strictly for First Order military servicemembers and their families (provided their holosmart cards have been updated appropriately).

Security and Logistics: The next section is once again a divided section split between Security and Logistics. On the one side you have security. Security, responsible for the enforcement of First Order law as well as the Uniformed Code of Military Justice. The armory is located on this section as well as the brig, blaster training, and a small holosuite which is used to train security agents on practical procedure. Logistics occupies the other half of this section overseeing cargo, personnel, inventory and overall manpower aboard the station. The quartermaster’s office is located here as well as several cargo bays.

Flight Deck and Hangar: Occupies several sections, attack/auxiliary craft are typically lowered to the deck from the hangar. Connected to the hangar are retractable, extendable runways. There are six squadrons that are stationed to the Watchtower at all times and with that in mind they are often off on patrols or running practice drills around the station. The hangar serves to house the deck chief and cag’s offices, a dayroom is also here to enable briefings to any element or squadron.

Science Network Node: Or simply the Node, is where science resides. There isn’t much in the way for many of the wide array of disciplines, however; the First Order does employ them on the Watchtower. With the Huginn Biocomm Network installed, many scientists work to keep abreast of the software. Other scientists work with local planetary scientists to on research, analysis and data collecting. CI has been known to rely on the science department for assistance. The node is also where many of the station’s sensors are operated and housed from, typically coordinating with the MCC.

Engineering: The core is the heart and life of any Watchtower. The engineering section as one might imagine consumes the most space within the station. Keeping its operation around the clock is no easy task. Hazard control, environmental systems, and other sub-departments of Engineering are housed here in the main core. The chief engineer’s office is also located on this level. A small manufacturing and fabrications lab is also located in engineering, enabling the station’s engineers to conduct repairs wherever they may be necessary.

Strengths:

  • [+] Halt: Armed with ID-84 Interdiction Missiles, the Watchtower is ready to slow down any foe that may try to encounter it. The ultimate goal is to try and keep the enemies at bay long enough for reinforcements to arrive.
Weaknesses:

  • [-] Cooldown: The Watchtower’s weapon systems are a large draw on her core and ultimately require them to give the core a cooldown before firing again. The core can handle sustained firing for sixty-two seconds and then requires a brief fifteen to twenty-seven second cooldown before firing again. This applies only to her turbolaser systems, her missile launchers fire off in pairs and only require a brief ten to sixteen second cooldown between firing.
Description:
The Watchtower Orbital Station, was a project undertaken by the First Order Corps of Imperials just prior to the Grand Moff's declaration of War against the Galactic Alliance. It's purpose was to keep watch over various planets, planets who according to First Order Military were priority or key planets. The production of the Watchtower reduced down from mass production to enable sepcialized equipment to be placed onboard. Additionally it could perform the duties of both counterintelligence and survey while ensuring the security of key First Order assets.

A lot of the Watchtower's materials came from the Montague Program, the First Order's Naval Refit program. Her shields were a change of pace for the First Order when it comes to their stations. Using a dual-layered or redundant shield system of both Particle and Ray shields. Internally the Watchtower was outfitted with older technology, reworked to fit modern times. Fleet Admiral Fiolette Yvarro assigned Commander Nasir Jabari to oversee the planning and construction phases of the Watchtower. One of the things that Jabari implemented was a triple-circuit redundancy to help cut down on the possibility of hacking the station's systems.

Commander Jabari outlined several key planets to take on the Watchtower, Dosuun, Yalara, Bespin, Hoth, Virgillia, Panatha, Cerea and Kaeshana to name a few. These planets are considered phase one, with phase two selections still being made. Phase one includes the establishment of key server locations for the Huginn Biocomm Network. Enabling the First Order to rely less on flotillas of Conyers and more on space stations. Encryption software and software to prevent theft or hacking of the system are also in place. The Commander will continue to oversee planning and construction on the Watchtower as phase one begins construction, and phase two rolls into the planning stages.

The Watchtower would serve to play multiple roles including a training facility for First Order servicemembers. Ultimately though this station would fill a gap in within First Order defenses enabling a more efficient response time to emergencies and enabling the military to mobilize at an improved with rate with these stations being constructed over the aforementioned worlds.
