PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Warren Century
  • Model: WRV1
  • Affiliation: Warren Century
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Durasteel, Aurodium Trim, Incineration Crystal
SPECIAL FEATURES:
N/A
Strengths:
  • Folding Space: The ring is capable of Folding Space within 2 meters of Warren's person, allowing himself to teleport himself or others via this power, OR to use it to teleport items.
  • Only Able to be used by him: The ring is attuned to his Force Signature, so only he can use it.
  • Rechargeable: The ring can be recharged by being filled with Force Energy from anyone, or by being taken to worlds where the Force is in large supplies, and being left there for a week.
  • Easy to Make: The ring was fairly easy to make, for Warren.
Weaknesses:
  • Gluttonous: The ring consumes a lot of Force Energy each time he uses the Fold Space Power, meaning he couldn't spam it. As such, the ring would be next to useless in PVP or combat situations of any kind, unless he was trying to say, grab a Lightsaber. Even then, overuse of the ring could leave him completely drained of Force Energy.
  • Not Lightsaber Resistant: As the ring is the first experiment he has done of it's kind, Warren has not made it resistant to Lightsabers, nor to anything else. The ring is simply made of mundane materials, as such it can be easily damaged.
  • Corrupted/Purified: Due to his use of neutral Force Techniques to create the ring, the ring could be corrupted or purified and thus rendered useless, to him.
  • One of a Kind: At present, there is only one of these rings in existence.
  • Two Meters: As this is a prototype of the one he plans to eventually create, the range of what the ring can do is limited to 2 meters in any direction, North, South, East, or West.
  • Non-Combative: The ring is not made to be able to be used in combat. As such, it could be very easily broken with the right applications of the Force, or even a single strike of a Lightsaber.
  • No Armor Value: The ring has no armor value whatsoever.
  • First Foray: The ring is what could be considered his first foray into this path of Force usage. As such, there are bound to be times when the ring fails, or teleports things he doesn't want it to.
  • Connected to his Thoughts: The ring is connected to his thoughts, and if he even partially subconsciously wants to teleport something the 2 meters, it will happen.
  • Teleporting Items or People: It can only teleport items or people, not both at the same time.
DESCRIPTION
The Shift Ring MK I is made out of Durasteel, Aurodium and has a Lightsaber Crystal of the Red Variety inside it, which provides the ability to store the Force Energy it needs for what the ring does. The ring was made by Warren, and is his first experimental item and creation with the Force. What it does is allow Warren to use the Fold Space Power, albeit on a limited scale. At present he can only shift himself a few meters to the left, or to the right through space when using the ring. Doing so is very draining on both his Force Energy and the Force Energy of the Ring. The ring can only be used by him, and no one else however.

As the ring is his first foray into such, the ring is bound to have some hiccups.

Hello, I'll be the factory judge reviewing your submission. If you have questions, please feel free to respond to this thread once we are underway.

This is not a canon item, please move your citation to the Primary Source field. The Canon Link is only for submissions which are canon items (example: Luke Skywalker's lightsaber), anything that is used as a primary source (where you're getting information from) would be placed in the Primary Source field, such as information on a canonical force ability.

Your account lacks force user rank titles, are they a force user? It's not possible to create a force imbued item without access to the force.

Unless you are a darksider attempting to utilize a light-side imbued item, or a lightsider attempting to utilize a dark-side imbued item, the effect you're stating would not happen.

This is not a weakness, remove it.

The latter of the two statements contradicts the former - if he is able to utilize this ring subconsciously, it would be perfectly suitable for combat.

This isn't a weakness, this is a strength.

This is a ring, this is not a weakness it is a fact of life.

In much the same manner that Gree Hypergates (teleportation gates) and Superweapons are banned technologies on Chaos, submissions which grant the wielder abilities such as being able to instantly teleport themselves, objects/weapons, and others over distances both vast and near are subject to heavy scrutiny.

A submission which utilizes force imbuement to create an artifact which allows the wielder to have access to such a power, which grants an immensely unbalanced advantage in any combat scenario, is one which is not going to find itself approved in the factory.

As I feel this submission cannot be approved without altering the very concept of this submission, I'm going to move for this to be denied on its concept.

Submissions such as these are often highly scrutinized because of their potential in the grand scheme of the setting within SWRP and Star Wars in general. Fold Space, as I mentioned in your Factory Q&A question is an incredibly powerful Force ability, and as such, this submission was, as I suspected, treading some uncharted waters. That being said I will generally always tell a writer to submit what they envision to see if there is a way to work with the factory judges in approving their ideas. Unfortunately, that isn't always possible.

After reviewing the submission, and the judges notes. I concur with their judgement and am denying this submission due to the nature and content withn. Without a substantial change to the submission, thereby essentially creating a new submission, this will likely not pass for approval. I would possibly advise an artifact imbued by a Force user that grants additional focus or energy to utilize that Force power, rather than grant the ability indiscriminately if you wish to resubmit a new item.

You may request a second chance here, if you so wish.
