Description:
The VT-Grav Glove is as its name implies a device utilized to mimic gravitational forces.

The device was created as a “next step” for the more popular cybernetic enhancement known as the Repulse-Hand. The Repulse-hand is a cybernetic appendage that utilizes Micro-Repulse Generators to manipulate gravitational effects at close range. The Repulse-hand is most often utilized in close quarters combat. It is used to deflect weaponry such as swords and lightsabers, tear apart flesh in an instant, and even break apart duracrete.

The Repulse-hand is not a new technological achievement, it has existed within the galaxy for many years now. Similar technologies using repulse generators and even tractor beams have been created in the past, however none have been comprehensively built or constructed through the use of miniaturization and cybernetics.

Alric Kuhn, having lead the galaxy in miniaturization technology as the head of Titan Industries, as well as having ventured in Cybernetics with the same company decided to meld technologies in order to create the VT-Grav Glove.

As implied, the VT-Grav Glove is a single glove which can be made for either the right or left hand and must be custom fitted to order. The Grav Glove utilized the same miniature repulse generator techonology that the Repulse-hand does, save smaller and more spread out. Instead of a single repulse-generator the Grav Glove utilizes eleven. One of each finger tip, one on each base finger base, and one in the central palm.

This means that with more generators and more power placed within the device the Grav Glove is able to have a greater effective strength than the Repulse-hand.

What does this added strength allow, excepting of course the retention of abilities already held by the Repulse-Hand? Quite simply the replication of certain telekinetic abilities that usually require the force. These effects are limited however, and are obviously not the same as utilizing the force itself. The gloves cannot fully hold on to things, instead they only work in quick loaded bursts for about two seconds at a time, with about thirty seconds between each burst of “grip”. This stall time between grips can be lengthened or shortened depending on how heavy to object moved was.

The limitations of the Grav Glove are quite simple, though an oddity. The max range that the Grav Glove can effect things at is fifteen meters, however at this range the object will be less effected. For instance if one tries to grab a person at fifteen meters it would feel much like being gently shoved towards the pullers direction, however if one is grabbed at five meters said person would be torn from their feet.

Weight also plays a great factor with how the Grav Glove effects things. Obviously, a user of a Grav Glove would not be capable of lifting an X-wing outright, due to both time and weight constraints. Instead he Grav glove is only as strong as its user, since the glove requires equal inertial force and momentum. As such the force that the Grav Glove is able to lift is exactly equal to what its user is capable of lifting.. Since the Grav Glove manipulates gravity through repulse generators it can also be used effectively depending on what or where it is targeted, for instance a speed heading towards the person using a Grav Glove could theoretically be flipped with proper application of force, due mostly to the nature of physics instead of the Grav Glove itself.

Of course, as mentioned earlier the Grav Glove is limited by itself. The repulse generators take both time, and energy to properly power, as such they are only capable of operating for about two seconds at a time. This can go on longer depending on the size of the object being manipulated. For instance a pebble could likely be suspended over the Grav Glove almost indefinitely whereas on the opposite side wrenching a larger boulder from the ground would only allow for half a second of pull force.

All in all the VT-Grav Glove is designed as a very futuristic tool to be utilized both in and out of combat as creatively as its user can think of.

I'm making the following assumptions when reviewing this:
-repulsors are only able to push back against a gravitational field. The force is applied to the repulsor in the opposite direction of gravity.
"The repulsorlift or repulsorlift engine, often referred to simply as a repulsor, was an anti-gravity technology capable of levitating an object. It was created from subnuclear "knots" of space-time made by enormous unmanned power refineries encompassing black holes.[1] Repulsorlifts were widely used, and were included on virtually every type of vehicle

Repulsorlifts only worked within a gravity well, as the technology required mass to push against. For a typical habitable planet such as Alderaan, "antigrav range" was approximately six planetary diameters, or around seventy-five thousand kilometers."

- With tractor beams an equal and opposite force is applied to the beam creator and the target:
"A tractor beam relied upon the inertia of the craft it was based upon as compared to the craft being affected. Ships with high inertia, typically meaning high mass, could affect smaller vessels with little strain on their own propulsion. Capital ships could tractor small freighters, for example, but if a freighter attempted to tractor a capital ship, it would actually affect the smaller freighter's trajectory. For two ships of roughly equal size, the attraction was equal, but could be affected by the relative speeds of the two vessels."

I am content for this to push and pull from the user, and to even apply a force orthogonal to the line between glove and target (ie point it at a rock in front of the user and have it lift directly up)

However this should be subject to and equal and opposite reaction. If you block a sword blow, you'll be subject to a force. This would be much less damaging, as the sword would not necessarily come to a sudden stop and the force would be spread across the glove.

If you tried to lift a tonne of weight. I would expect a downwards force on the glove equal to that weight.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. Looks reasonable to me now, plenty of canon ways to deal with tractor beams and I imagine you could easily 'bite off more than you could chew' with the device.

Pending approval. Admin should do a double check to make sure they're happy.
