Intent: To create a unique set of robes for Pyrrhus to serve as a sinister-looking alternative to when he’s not in armour, and to continue along with the trend of making items and artefacts that feel ‘alive’ with a simple mind of their own.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Darth Pyrrhus

Special Features:

  • Flame-retardant Armorweave underarmor

  • Zeyd-cloth robe

  • Light durasteel plating

  • Imbued with the Dark Side of the Force

Strengths:
+Sorcerer’s Robes - These robes are the product of sorcery themselves, and are imbued with the Dark Side of the Force. When worn they grant their host a greatly increased capacity to use Sith sorcery. They increase the wearer’s overall efficiency, strength of spells, and in some cases reduce the time required to cast the spells.
+Aura of Uneasiness - The Corusca-jeweled “eyes” embedded in the shoulder plate (two on each side) are bonded with Sith runes as well as Darth Pyrrhus’ Force powers. They work as a talismanic focus to project the wearer of the robes with an Aura of Uneasiness. Cognizant beings exposed to the ability often experienced feelings of confusion and discomfort, whereas Force-sensitives experienced an expanding sense of darkness, as well as an inability to concentrate.
+Team Dark Side - This one goes hand in hand with what is being described in the first strength, and doesn’t really expand beyond that. These robes deepen the wearer’s connection to the Force, the Dark Side in particular. It can sometimes feel like it has a mind of its own, waiting to prey upon the weak and unaware (who wears it, specifically). It is made of a darkness not easily banished and will seek to corrupt any who puts them on, and lure them to the Dark Side.

Weaknesses:
-Hi, here I am! - With this thing on, there’s little to no subtlety involved. An item such as this, so deeply connected with the Dark Side, is not something easily covered up. Its presence is easily felt and makes stealth a proper hazard. While a capable enough practitioner of the Force could mask herself, to cover the robe as well would demand a considerable extra effort and constant focus. It’s not cost effective, and generally not worth it. The nature of the robe is pride, and it will fight its wearer to cast any obscuring veil aside. It is a challenge wanting to be felt, it wants to be found.
-Aura of Uneasiness’ range - This ability has been noted to be relatively simple to create and control, but its area of effect, although more potent when in close proximity to the point of origin, was restricted to the initiator's line of sight
-Not an armour - While being all fancy and spooky-looking, this is after all a piece of clothing. As far as armour goes it’s pretty useless, and offers only a very limited protection to the wearer. No lightsaber resistance.

Description:
These robes were constructed by Darth Pyrrhus himself. The material was collected on his order, without much trouble. After all the most potent adornment the robes possessed were their affinity with the Force, which happened to be his speciality. Unlike when he commission for his armour to be made, this was made a private and secret affair.

Pyrrhus has always considered himself a traditionalist. Even since a wee Acolyte he wore the dark robes and tunics of the Sith. Now, however, he deemed it high time for something more appropriate for his station. The robes maintained the same ‘Sith’ feel, using much of the same material as was used for the standard Sith robes, namely the Zeyd-cloth. Most of the robe came in black, with a faint presence of red in the lower area. They did not come in the typical ‘open robe with wide hood’-style as was often the case. These modifications came about due to Pyrrhus’ Togruta montrals, which made the hood redundant anyway.

In addition to that, these robes came equipped with thin durasteel plating on his shoulders, hands, neck and a small portion of his upper chest. Though adorned with a few imposing durasteel placements, the thin plating was mostly for visual effect. Four Corusca gems were implanted into the shoulder plates in the shape of small eyes, two on either side. The flowing zeyd-cloth robe combined with armourweave underarmour. Overall the combination might allow the robes to provide a small measure of protection, but the outfit is not meant to withstand punishment.

The part about the robes that made them stand out was the way in which they had been touched by dark sorcery. Themselves being a product of sorcery, now their purpose was meant to amplify Pyrrhus’ own understanding and capabilities within the field. The Sith Lord summoned the Dark Side and bound a portion of it to the robes. The robes resonate an aura of darkness which can be felt from afar by Force Sensitives. Even those not trained in the Force might recognise its presence, though be unable to define or explain it. They deepen his connection with the Dark Side, and in particular aid in the formation of dark spells born out of Sith sorcery.

To go with the robes’ dark presence, the Sith runes on his shoulder plating, “the eyes”, project an Aura of Uneasiness. This came about as a result of their own talismanic powers combined in with Pyrrhus’ own Force powers. It allowed him to an extent to proceed unabated, particularly aiding in freeing him of the nuisance non-sentient beings could pose. When inside the aura’s sphere of influence, animals and insects were compelled to avoid the path of the wearer of the robes. Sentient beings might struggle with a vague sense of unease and discomfort, some comparing it to feeling suddenly struck by illness. Force Sensitives notably felt an inability to concentrate on whatever task they were attempting to perform at the moment. While in no way did this serve as an insurmountable obstacle, it did require an extra presence of mind to push aside the distracting, dark waves.
