Description: The Velite-class V-wing starfighter was designed in a joint venture between the Verpine company of Slayn & Korpiil and Republic Engineering Corporation. The fighter was designed in secret at the Roche Asteroids during that systems days as a neutral power. In part because of it's existence, and in part because of a Sith research station present in system, the battle of Roche was fought. (More to come pending the end of the event)

The fighter itself diverted from the norm of the companies technologies relying on speed and maneuverability to act as strange breed of fighter/bomber crossbreed. To that end the fighter was armed with six powerful Proton Bombs, and in formations were capable of dealing devastating damage to capital ships.

The vessel however only had limited shielding and relied on a rear facing laser turret and it's speed to survive in combat.

Although intended for wide scale use replacing the X-Wing the V-wing's production capacity took a major hit at the battle of Roche, losing its primary factory and many of the early prototype fighters. Because of this the fighter is available only in relatively small quantities.
