Do you need something for invisible crowd control and deniability?
Or are you an assassin who likes tidy, silent business?
Look no further, FFE has you covered.

Intent: A standard tensor rifle for the open market, using organic tractor beam technology. A counter to biological armor or extreme crowd control with deniability, due to the invisible nature of the weapon's discharge. Doubling as an assassin’s best friend for those sneaky jobs.

Special Features: Organic Tractor waves rip apart their targets at the cellular level. Making this weapon highly effective against living organisms, living armor, animals or biological droids for example. Having standard effectiveness against regular armor, it’ll still destroy the cells of the armor unless the armor is built to resist tractor waves, but it won’t be able to simply kill it. As shields have no physical cells to destroy, it is highly ineffective against them and also countered with a lightsaber, though the beam mode can still be tricky to keep position on as the shots are invisible.

Description: FFE see a gap in the market and are willing to fill it, not only does this monster fire invisible shots, but its exceptionally good for taking out tough animal hide or tough biological armor, killing the creature it’s fired at by ripping apart its cells.

This lovely red killing machine is heavy for its size, and at 25 fast firing shots a clip you’ll be reloading often, but ammunition is cheap and light so we at FFE will throw in 5 clips for free! It’ll take training to use this weapon effectively, but when you do, you’ll have a great future together, just pack something to take out those personal shields first!

Firing modes on the weapon are switched easily, with a large black sliding mechanism under the barrel.

Weaknesses:
-Highly ineffective against shields.
-Can be neutralised with a lightsaber, as a saber beam has no physical cells to rip apart.
-Tensor tech is illegal on several worlds, and means you can't be showing them openly in public often.
-Low clip size. 25 fast firing shots will drain fast.
-Heavy given its size, especially as you’ll want to pack a second weapon for shields.
-Invisible shots. Harder to aim accurately unless you are used to or trained with it.

Strengths:
+Rips apart cells. Extremely nasty vs living creatures. This means vong crab armor, biodroids, unarmored targets, or living creatures of any kind. This is an extreme bonus if you are for example hunting dangerous creatures at a distance.
+Invisible pulse shots, very useful for taking targets out from cover without anyone knowing who fired. Assassins take note!
+Tractor Beam damage, not a blaster, not sonic and not slug, tractor beam waves require resistances to tractor beam waves or tensor technology to deflect or resist effectively. Shields are of course a more readily available option currently.
+Easy to find ammunition, uses regular powerpacks, having a low amount of shots but a quick and easy reload.
+Once you’ve focused in on your target, you can focus the beam of the weapon for a concentrated and devastating effect.

How are armored opponents effected? What Resistances are effective?

This is nice, and most things check out, but we need to know this kind of information. If you could clear this up, that would be great.

Done and thanks as always for taking a look through.

Resistance to Tractor Wave Damage is required. Though shields are an effective and easier to obtain counter.

The purpose of these alternative damage types is to broaden the scope of the weapons market, to give people options to play with, and perhaps even start a small arms race.

I know you probably saw the trade off, but for anyone else wondering. The ammo count is halved over the canon tech and the range increased slightly. I am however guessing at the length of time the beam could be held on a continuous fire, 90 seconds seemed about right to do some damage but not be held down forever.

90 Seconds is forever in a firefight. 30 Seconds would be more appropriate.

That said, I want a line in the description limiting the weapon. While it may have the potential, I want it known that such potential isn't a guarantee. Looks good though.

Sure i've removed the line guaranteeing anything. I think that's what you meant? As tomorrow someone could put a specific armor up with tensor/tractor resistance so it made little sense anyway.

Changed the time on the beam to 30 seconds per clip.
