Strengths:
  • The Thorn-Class is fast and maneuverable.
  • The sleek, arrow-like, design creates a difficult target when confronted from in front, behind, or either sides (left, right).
Weaknesses:
  • The ship is equipped with only a single dual laser cannon.
  • The fighter is a large target when approached from directly below or above, making it easy pickings for anti-air turrets.
Description:
To mark Lily Kuhn's official return to the design team on Koros Spaceworks, the Thorn-class scout fighter was spearheaded by the CEO for exploratory and scouting purposes. The ship is extremely lightly armed, with only a single dual laser cannon turret, and fairly lackluster in defense with a fairly standard hull and shielding system. Despite the subpar appearance of the ship, on paper anyways, it is relatively fast and rather maneuverable, making evasive maneuvers a viable option over hoping for the best with the shields and hull.

As the ship is intended for scouting and exploration, however, it is equipped with an advanced communications array and an advanced sensor system designed to pick up life form readings, much like a biometrics scanner, on planet surfaces - when flying low enough - and satellites, such as asteroids or man-made structures. The general idea of this is to reduce the risk for research pilots when visiting potentially hostile worlds for the first time while not compromising opportunities to collect data. This could be theoretically used for military use, but the lack of armaments or proper defensive systems beside the speed and maneuverability of the craft makes that the less viable of the two choices.
