- Lightsabers: It cannot be blocked or deflected by lightsabers.
- Wide Range Attack: The wide range attack can only be used on stun mode, and forgoes the plasma containment field, meaning it is possible to pinpoint where the attack came from. It also only has a range of ten meters, and a width of three.
- Heavy Recoil: With each shot the weapon recoils and must be manually readjusted on target. For someone as small as Katella this makes perfect targeting impossible and makes it difficult to make more than a handful of shots in a row.
- Cooldown: There is a one and a half to two seconds cool down between each shot.
- High Energy Use: At it's highest setting, the blaster can only be fired ten times per power pack. The user must keep in mind that the highest power is uses three times the power at that level.
- Not Usable in a Vacuum: Self-explanatory. The weapon is unable to operate in a vacuum due to the lack of particles to be moved.
Created by Eternal Empire Engineers for a member of its Blackwatch, the Vaterra is a small custom-made ultra-high frequency sonic blaster. It is made of a mixture of duraplast, and agrinium, making it very lightweight and durable. The weapon has no identifying marks, or serial numbers. It has a good thirty-meter optimum range, but it can do damage up to a hundred meters. Despite its size, it carries with it extreme destructive capabilities that can turn durasteel into dust and break apart people and things at the molecular level. However, it is also incredibly versatile with a wide range of power options from stun to disintegration. Additionally, it has a wide range stun mode, that allows it to create a beam three meters wide and ten meters long.
The weapon is near un-hearable, even when it explodes on a target, except for machines designed to detect such things, or species with the capacity to hear ultra-high frequency ranges. Overall, it is a high-powered weapon, designed for specific circumstances rather than a cure-all. But in certain circumstances, it will do its job incredibly well. Especially against lightsaber weilders, and armor.
