Name: The Tainted Legion
Intent: Backbone Unit for the Tainted Chorus and defense Force for Malachor V
Affiliation: The Tainted Chorus
Availability: Common
Quality: D
Type: Light infantry
Strength: 120
Description:

The Tainted Legion was called into service after the Imperial Remnant showed up on Malachor V, making it painfully clear to Abyss that the Cities of the planet needed protection beyond his blade. And so he began to recruit in two places: The Tainted City, and the Spheres of Ash, calling all those into service that are ready to live and die for the world they now call home. The legion is cross section of Malachors society, meaning that its members range from simple salesman and assistants over to bounty hunters, smugglers, mercenaries and gang members that took on the duty of defending their homes in case of an attack. Beyond the possibility of saving their homes and families, money plays an important part in their loyalties, as Abyss is known to pay those working for him rather well, especially compared to similar work.

Not everyone has to take the money (only the most), but those who did are bound by duty beyond the defense of their homeworld. In case that the Chorus or Abyss requires them to, they have to march as a officially unaligned band of raiders and warriors, their main job in chaos and looting, not in fighting large scale battles. Due to their composition, many of the members of the legion can abandon their weapons and blend in with most civil populations in case of an emergency, making it possible to spread chaos and unrest even further.

Most member have no formal training with weapons and war, but a solid chunk of them has done one or two odd jobs that involved fighting. While even those are not nearly as well trained as real soldiers, the legion balances this out by sheer numbers, as the cities of Malachor offer a rather large supply of new members everyday, drawn by the possibility of making money.

In a combat scenario the Legion serves as a simple brute force unit for short and medium distances, using standard weapons and armor brought brought from the Black Market by Abyss to stand a small step above common men and women around the galaxy combat wise, if they lack the money to afford their own personal weaponry. Yet most of them have lived in the Free Cities, and maybe even fought in gangs there, which gives them a small edge over most common soldiers when it comes to guerrilla and urban warfare, as they know how to use houses, shortcuts and civilian vehicles to their advantage.
