Myles Vylumnar
No gods, no masters
OUTER RIM TERRITORIES
Myles Vylmunar, 'The Stargazer'
Sometimes, there's just nothing to do...
That was the case for the young pilot, Myles Vylumnar. It had not been long since his last job, and he was already in search of a new employer. Unfortunately, his companion Kaz hadn't had any available contacts at the time. It was like one of those moments where there was just nothing to keep you occupied. Thus, The Stargazer drifted along in the Outer Rim. He could always return to Nar Shaddaa or even Tatooine, but Myles was getting tired of flying back and forth between a raider-infested desert planet and a moon full of the galaxy's deplorables. Things were getting quiet aboard the freighter, until a ship was detected jumping from hyperspace...
It was, by the looks of it, some sort of cruiser. It didn't seem commercial, but who would need a cruiser if they weren't working for some company? Something seemed off, and it didn't help that the ship's transponder codes were encrypted. Only a couple seconds later, a transmission would come through.
"A-hem, egh... *cough*... Yes, uh... Surrender your ship in the next... Uh... ten seconds, or we'll be forced to take, uh, action... Yes..." said a raspy, harsh voice. They seemed almost inebriated or something, and spoke like this was part of their daily agenda. There'd be no point in trying to fight back, even if Myles was, in his opinion, the best pilot there ever was. If they jumped to hyperspace, they'd probably just be followed wherever they went.
Running out of options, Myles decided to throw a curve-ball their way.
"Oh- uh- Alright! Alright!" he replied through a transmission, flying his ship into their tractor beams. Hopefully, they'd assume that he was the only one on the ship. Myles prepared the ship to jump into hyperspace beforehand as Kaz remained hidden near the cockpit, all part of a grand plan. Instead of giving in to these pirates, Myles was hoping for his own hostile takeover. The young man was no stranger to being outnumbered, but he'd still need help. These guys were obviously slavers, so maybe their slaves wouldn't be opposed to a little revenge...
A small band of the thuggish slavers surrounded the ship as the docking ramp lowered. After a few seconds, nobody came out, so one of the men decided to take a step inside. Before anyone knew it, blaster bolts flurried through, cutting down the handful of slavers that had crowded the docking ramp. Not much sooner, chaos ensued in the docking bay as Myles took on an army by himself.
A FEW MOMENTS LATER...
It was fairly obvious that this wouldn't work. His cockiness got the best of him, once again. Myles awoke locked up in one of the ship's many prison cells, which in truth were just ray shield pods scattered around the cargo bay. Those who weren't imprisoned were chained up together carrying boxes around or sweeping the floors. Confirmation that this was a slaver's ship.
It was during the firefight when he was knocked out. He could remember it now; A couple dozen bodies struck by numerous blaster bolts, piles of crates and boxes knocked over, and even a couple explosions. It was one of these explosions which caused a stack of crates to topple over near Myles, rendering him unconscious after a crate struck him in the dome. Luckily, he'd given the order for Kaz to fly The Stargazer out of there, so at least that was safe.
Unfortunately, that didn't change the fact that Myles was stripped of his possessions and forced to wear drabs inside a ray shield cell. Apparently, this would officially make him a... Slave...
