The Rebel Alliance Major Faction Application

Name: The Rebel Alliance

OOC Heirarchy: [member="Krasnaya Xue"], [member="Corruck Kazen"], [member="Armand Temi"], [member="Juwiela Melec"], [member="DasGeneral"]

IC Heirarchy: The government is comprised of two executive branches, plus an ombudsman program to moderate the executives, directed by the third government branch, the Alliance Reformist Senate.

The executive leadership is comprised of the Benefactor (currently Armand Temi), supervisor of the civilian government, and the Commander-in-Chief (currently Wan Min Brightsky), overseer of the military government.

The Senate is made up of one senatorial representative per exterior populated world that has pledged allegiance to the Alliance, and three senators per populated world territorially maintained by the Alliance. They serve as an advisory committee to the Alliance executive powers, though a vote cast with a strong enough antagonistic majority has the potential to impeach both leaders and elect a new pair of executives in the banished officials' stead.

The Alliance military is composed of the Red Fleet, led by the Admiral (currently Krasnaya Xue), the Marine Forces, led by the General (currently Corruck Kazen), and the Starfighter Corps, led by Rogue Leader (currently Juwiela Melec). The Intelligence Commission is a separate entity headed by a Director (currently Marque).

There is no collective Force user entity, as the Rebel Alliance believes in the melding of all talents to produce the desired results. Segregation due to Force-sensitivity is detrimental to the function of the collective, and leads to arrogance, infighting, or fracture, as has been seen most recently in other, larger factions. However, the Alliance does not tolerate the actions of 'extreme darksiders' and will forcibly remove such cancerous people from their controlled sectors.

There are disparate political groups within the Rebel Alliance, but they are all united indirectly by the desire to eliminate imperialist/fascist authorities and allow the peoples of the galaxy to select their own form of democratic unity to stand against such invasive nations. The dominant movement and political subfaction within the Rebellion is the Selectivist Party, established upon the political foundations marked by one 'Viola Tave'. The Selectivists have certainly had a significant influence on the governing system, with their primary focuses on developing a superior military and progressing society through a social economy. However, we hope to proliferate the reformist parties from [almost] all shades of the political spectrum, from communists to Old Republic conservatives to elective monarchists. Anyone is welcome to start a political party to help steer the Alliance towards advancing true peace throughout the galaxy!

Description: The Rebel Alliance is a group of freedom fighters seeking to eradicate the tyrannic, corporatist, and/or ultra-nationalist (and sometimes genocidal) expansionists who take territory and impose their governance upon the conquered peoples without a fair say. What worlds they do unite are brought together under diplomacy and democratic decision.

The Rebel Alliance does not entirely align itself with the predominant 'good' powers of the galaxy, always wary of trouble and forced seizure by external factions. However, its primary sights are set on the factions that would be inclined to the 'dark' side--especially any government that would tolerate the Sith, by any name.

The end goal is to liberate the oppressed citizens of despotic, unrelenting empires so that new government may be established popularly and fairly for the people. The Rebel Alliance is not an anarchist organization, but a reformist organization. Its method is to incite insurrection by sponsorship of localized rebellions and assistance through the Alliance military, then let the local populace decide what is best for themselves.

One man’s terrorist is another man’s hero.

The Pitch: Since its founding nearly a year ago, the Rebel Alliance has always stood for a sort of openness to various roleplay styles, while still trying to maintain a ‘chaotic good’ element to it. It is also a means to help play out some more familiar content (influenced by the canon Rebel Alliance) and some not so familiar content (influenced by Chaos’ Galactic Liberation Collective, socialist history of the 19th and 20th centuries, and--most importantly--the faction’s player base). It is our desire to explore new grounds on Chaos with an energetic exhibition of our IC agenda, as well as appreciating the IC ‘backrooms’ drama that accompanies a nation’s trial-and-error pursuit of perfection in politically diverse gameplay.

From a couple of other members of the Rebel Alliance:

[...] I feel like the storytelling and writing in this faction is really above par, and it would be great to provide that level of content, storylines etc. to Chaos on a wider basis.
and

This faction is disruptive to the status quo. It'll shake up the stories with a group that is more than willing to target any imperialistic government, regardless of alignment.
The fact that this faction is still alive today shows its resilience and dedication to its core principles that the faction shall steer the faction through cooperation, rather than follow the whims of one single leader--because the leader who imposes their will absolutely on a faction will soon face rebellion themselves.
