The Path of Wisdom is a task assigned to such an individual by the Conclave, which varies based on the graveness of the incident that leader to their exclusion from the Guard. Commonly these tasks are meant to prove these individuals loyalty to the Laws of the Guard, like collecting ancient knowledge from a Temple of an opposing order. Yet in the end it is fully up to the Conclave what task is give, and in some cases they can be unorthodox to truly represent a test.
