Daughter of Fen
The expedition team was large, and noisy. The equipment needed for the harvest required a large team. Technicians and scientists chatted among themselves amicably, the excitement between them was almost palable. They had a four hour hike from the landing zone to the proposed harvest sight and that took them through dense jungle infested with Vornskr and ysalamari alike.
Mia stood with the head technician, a holo image floating from the small projector in her hand. "The amount of ysalamari we're going to have to harvest for this is huge Field Marshall." He said solemnly "It could have a severe impact on the species if we're not careful." Mia smirked behind her visor.
"So we'll be careful, this harvest site will be the first of many and we're not going to wipe them out from each location. We'll rotate, giving each area a chance to recover their numbers."
"What if they don't recover?" Mia sighed heavily then and the tech looked a little abashed.
"There is only one way to find out isn't there. Lets get this expedition moving."
She deactivated the holoprojector and moved away, leaving him to organise the rest of his group while she called together the team that would be escorting them. "Alright, I'm hoping that this group is large enough that the Vornskr will keep their distance. All the same keep your eyes open. I want people on each flank, some to scout ahead and some to bring up the rear. We need to keep the group tight together, any stragglers are at risk. Understood?"
