The Codex Of Tython
Codex_of_Tython.jpg
"In the light, there is a darkness and in the darkness, a light. It is the way with us all. Be a prisoner of neither Bogan nor Ashla. Strive to live in balance. As Tython itself teaches us, it is dangerous to do otherwise. And the danger is there—always." ―Ketu

  • General Exhaustive Encyclopedia on the Je’daii, Tython, and early Jedi Order.
Strengths:

  • Encyclopedia: If it has to do with the Je’daii, or Tython, it is probably at the least a stub in the Code
Weaknesses:

  • No Instruction Manual: Whilst it contains exhaustive information on a host of subjects, it also takes an assumption that the seeker has some foreknowledge, and so it is far from a blueprint of things.

  • Forceborn: As with many holocrons and other such objects, the Codex is unable to function outside of the Force, becoming merely a very pretty paperweight
Description:

Twenty sides of pearlescent crystal make up this holocron compendium, and within it are stories and legends untold and now unknown to most of the Galaxy. Legends of the Great Wars of the Je’daii Order, of their fall and rise, of their technological marvels and philosophy. Whilst not a how-to on creating giant super-weapons(in fact the only one known to the Je’daii is absent or removed) or other things, it is an exhausting account of their life, times, and more, and barring a few things one might expect there, like more than passing details on Forcesabers and a description with no technical data on an advanced superweapon of the Order serving mainly as a warning against and little else., its’ value is incalculable in regards to history and philosophy overall.

Unlike some holocrons, whose gatekeeper or gatekeepers jealously guard the secrets within, the multitude of Gatekeepers for this device is merely such that they judge the intent rather than alignment of the seeker. A truly evil Sith or very Pious Jedi may struggle to find information from this relic more readily than someone of balance, depending on the subject and gatekeeper. The information within is ancient, and mostly forgotten or discarded as irrelevant and outdated, but to some nothing could be more pertinent than what arguably the roots of all modern conflict come from.

*OOC NOTE: I spoke with the last registered owner, [member="Jorus Merrill"] and the one this item had been given to, but who never claimed it, [member="Jacen Voidstalker"]. Jorus had no problem with me taking over ownership, nor Jacen (who only mentioned he thought someone else had it claimed, which they didn’t). Given it has been well over 30 days since anyone mentioned it at all in terms of ownership or ICly, I figured no should have objections to my claim on it given the above efforts.
