Maneuverability Rating: 3 (1 while using advanced/emergency maneuvering thrusters)
Speed Rating: 3 (1 while using overdrive)
Hyperdrive Class: 0.5, backup class 10 (Silkworm Hypertransit Package)

Strengths:
-Very, very fast when necessary; very good navigation and maneuvering capabilities
-Critical components and regions shielded with phrik to boost durability if reactor failure or enemy fire cause shield failure
-Decent set of countermeasures

Weaknesses:
-Overdrive causes loss in maneuverability
-Advanced maneuvering thrusters, if used to compensate for loss in maneuverability, cause a significant decrease in shield or weapon strength
-Emergency thruster system runs the risk of liquefying the crew
-In terms of weaponry, doesn't hit as hard as the stock model, or have remotely the same offensive range; in fact, none of these weapons are primarily for anti-capital use
-Overuse of energy-taxing components may result in reactor failure and/or the need to make hard choices in power allocation
-Lacks the stock model's advanced shield generator; has only standard shields for a small military-grade vessel
-Has essentially no cargo or passenger space; though its lift capacity easily measures in the hundreds of tons, it only has a small room of 8 m^3 available for cargo
-Using the advanced drive/maneuvering components in the wrong order will put the ship at a serious disadvantage
-Using the field disruptor to pass through energy shields (as when staging an evacuation) requires the ship to be helpless and shieldless, or risk massive structural damage
-Zero true stealth capabilities; is often very obvious
-Slightly larger than the recommended dimensions for the ICE Peregrine Field Disruptor: passage through especially powerful shields is often accompanied by extreme turbulence and the risk of structural damage
-TL;DR: Weaker and less well shielded than the stock model; can't carry cargo or passengers in any significant amount; use the components in the wrong order and the crew will die horribly in a variety of ways

Description: After the presumed destruction of the Gypsymoth at the Second Battle of Empress Teta, its presumed-dead owner went all in for a new vessel. The Gypsymoth was sent to drydock for secret repairs, and then to Q-27 to resume its role as Jorus' family's home. The new ship wiped out the meagre savings of the ex-trillionaire hyperspace explorer, and has none of the Gypsymoth's overwhelming firepower or stealth capabilities. The Bullet Time is fairly anonymous, in its way, or at least less iconic and recognizable than the Gypsymoth.

Inside, the vessel has been completely reworked. There are few corridors or normally-sized rooms; interior space is cramped, requiring careful and practiced maneuvers. The vessel can operate effectively with a single crewer, though optimal crew count is five; Jorus often relies on a handful of close friends, old Rebel Alliance associates, Levantine patrollers and/or crewers from the Absolution, for which the Bullet Time often serves as a runabout. Highly advanced inertial dampeners insulate the crew from the tightest maneuvers, even when the ship's artificial gravity is turned off for ease of internal navigation. The vessel has room for only two to four passengers, in very close circumstances, and maintains only a month's consumables for seven people, or seven months' consumables for one. The consumables do not, by and large, taste very good; they include an emergency bedjie compost tank. Amenities like sonic showers and a medbay are highly compacted, and there is no substantial recreational room. The vessel is a racer and a dogfighter first and foremost.

Development Thread: Acquiring very large amounts of phrik, junkyard browsing, concept work on old Defender-class, construction

There is a lot going on in here, but at the same time you have made substantial efforts to point out that this set-up ain't without its problems, weaknesses and above all dangers.

Both dev threads are good, substantial in itself.

Yet because of the combination of a lot of systems, mixed with some extreme specialization in speed and maneuverability I am requestion one more dev thread. A simple, short one will do where the ship is being put together, a thing like that.

WITHOUT DEV THREADS
  • -
WITH DEV THREADS
  • Simple dev thread detailing the ship's construction. (ten posts or more)
