As the Carrion Company began to grow exponentially, Léon felt the drowning sensation of being in a galaxy he didn't understand. Though a curiosity held him, Force Users and their plasmatic blades. Léon knew his duty as a mercenary was to take his orders and complete them, and one day he may come across these plasma blades. With the sole intent of disarming these vicious warriors, Léon began to craft a blade of his own design.
Using the materials rewarded from the raid on the Ison Cartel on Bespin, he studied into the properties of Cortosis. The blade is fashioned in a traditional katana, with a titanium base, and cortosis applied over the base to form the blade. Leather is curled around the titanium hilt for better grip.
Due to the brittle nature of Cortosis, sharpening is required regularly when the blade has been in use. It is quick to blunt during combat or any other use when the edge is used. The blade is unsuitable for combat with other swords and vibroswords due to this weakness, as a vibrosword will be much more capable of shattering the cortosis than the energy of a lightsaber - which would dissipate upon contact.
