The Arcian Star Kingdom
The Arcian Star Kingdom is a monarchical-oligarchical-theocratic blend. Beings from each corner of the galaxy inhabit Arcian territory, even ranging to the ancient Sith. Founded with the ideals of olden traditions, basing itself with a simple class system and traditional government style. A balance system was erected to stabilize the government. The King, Queen, and their offspring hold power in the Executive branch. The House of Lords maintains the Legislative side whilst the Circle of Judgement upholds the Judicial affairs. For defense, the Kingdom maintains two branches: the Royal Marines and the Royal Navy. Marines and Naval officers are trained at a young age of 14. Superior tactics, weapons, and technology bring them success in their ranges of influence. A rich culture, a functioning government, and one of the strongest upcoming militaries in the galaxy. Are you up for it?
History
The Star Kingdom is a monarchy based off of the world Tantorus, a planet solely inhabited by the ancient Sith species. Upon discovery, Dranok Lussk and several other comrades of his stumbled upon the planet during a foreign affairs mission. Due to vessel malfunctions, the team crash landed on the planet. The survivors encountered the natives of the world shortly after their ship exploded, leaving them stranded with no way back home.
As they were discovered, the surviving crew of the ship learned about their being taken and the ancient history the natives held. Many of their people had scattered and lost faith in the telling of a returning King, returning to bind them together and lead them into prosperity. And that was when Dranok Lussk stepped up to the plate. He and his allies passed test after test, overcoming each and every obstacle to prove their worthiness.
That is, until the final test was given to their leader, Dranok. Only he knows what actually happened during that test, but he won. He won for a price: his life. The sight of his corpse filled his followers and the masses of Sith with sorrow. However, Sith Priests stepped forward to begin a ritual that would save the man, transferring his essence into the strongest Priest present in a sacrifice for their new King.
And this is where their journey into prosperity begins.
The Population
The natives of Tantorus are entirely composed of Sith Purebloods, though a percentage have become hybrids due to breeding with the other species upon the planet centuries prior. Outsiders are welcomed into the Kingdom, yet most are looked upon with disdain by the native Sith.
The Sith on the planet follow a caste system. Kissai (Priests) make up the elite minority of the Sith. As all Sith are Force sensitive, they excel in the Darkside arts and are renowned for their cunning and brilliant minds. The Zuguruk (Engineers/Craftsmen) are on the same tier as the Massassi. Zuguruk are master shipbuilders and architects with math and design coming easily to them. Massassi (Warriors) make up the bulk of the population on Tantorus. They are taller and stronger than their counterparts and are extremely loyal to their King. They can be trained extremely easily and lead average lives during peacetime.
The Government
The government of the Arcian Star Kingdom is very different from the other galactic governments around the galaxy. Like a democracy, it holds 3 branches: the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branch. The Royal family, the House of Lords , and the Circle of Judgement are their respective names. Not just anyone can become a member of the Arcian government. The majority of the current governmental staffers are born into these ranks.
The Veyga family holds power in the House of Lords while the Yuvaj family dictates legislation in the Circle of Judgment. However, both of these branches are kept in check by the Royal family and can appoint non-family members into the other two branches. Also, only Kissai (Priests) of the Sith caste may become government officers.
It’s a very similar system of government similar to that of the Galactic Republic, but without all of the voting done by the citizens.
The Military
Being a protectorate of the Lords of the Fringe, the Royal Military uses much of their technology, starships, and weaponry in home defense and expansion. The Royal Navy currently wields an extra handful of outdated Imperial Remnant equipment at the courtesy of their King, but they tend to use technology from their sponsor.
Royal Marines are trained from age 14 and throughout adulthood. Many Massassi warriors immediately devote their entire lives into service of the King. With their loyalty, honor, and combat skills, they make perfect soldiers for use in service for the Kingdom. When not on active duty, many enjoy average lives with their families and train during peacetime.
The Royal Navy is gradually becoming the very definition of precision. At the arrival of the new King and introduction of interstellar trading, the Navy constructed its first shipyard to begin manufacturing vessels of their own. The Zuguruk caste of the Sith excel in shipbuilding and weapons design. Many Massassi have opted to become Naval crewmen and officers, becoming the first to lead the Royal fleets into the vast.
The Church
As for the religion of the Arcian Star Kingdom, it is ancient Sith tradition to worship the current Sith King. In the eyes of the entire population, their King is a God on the mortal plane and many would sacrifice themselves for his benefit. Kissai Sith typically lead sermons every 5th day of the standard week and tell the tales of the King’s might and teachings in the dark arts of the Force.
The Royal Knights
The Royal Knights are the Force order within the Arcian Star Kingdom. Though all Sith are Force sensitive and have darksider tendencies, they all are not fully capable of mastering the use of the Force. Those Sith with such skills are put into the ranks of the Royal Knights under the following ranks:
  • Baron (Master)
  • Paladin (Knight)
  • Squire (Apprentice)
They undergo intense military and diplomatic training and serve as protectors, advisors, and diplomats for the Royal family. Their loyalty exceeds that of the Massassi warriors when it comes to defending their King and his family.

OOC Questions:

  • Who can join?
Anyone can join the Arcian Star Kingdom! Though the NPC population is entirely Sith, don’t let that stop you from putting a character in here! As long as you have sound IC reasoning to join, go right ahead.

  • Will we go major?
Nope. Well, at least not for now. In the distant future, we may consider branching off into a Major faction but staying minor is fun. Faction progression and all that jazz is sweet.

  • What will we be doing?
Lots of Roleplaying! There’s lots to do! Become a Priest of the Kingdom and master the Force or serve in the government. Have your character become a top-notch engineer alongside the Zuguruk. Even fight alongside the Massassi warriors in combat, ground or space. Medieval themes, festivals, battles, political intrigue, what more could you ask for?

  • Lords of the Fringe…?
Mhm, we’re a protectorate under them. This means that we’re basically a sub-faction, but this doesn’t mean to have to join them, though it’s strongly encouraged. We get military and financial aid from them and we offer the same. Just expect to work alongside them as far as dominions, invasions, and events go.

  • I have other questions…
(This is your turn!)

This sounds awesome... I hope we can get going with Forgotten Blades again. Its @[member="Jared Ovmar"]'s turn to post, I believe.

Would invite to faction.

Thanks! Why not fly by sometime with the crew and stop for drinks? *Passes over cup filled with the blood of the innocent*

What'd I do the first time? ._.

Why not bring the Sorcerers over for a field trip? Sith Priests (Kissai) almost exclusively use Sith Magic and Alchemy.

Oh yeah, time for some Paladin Paddlin'!

Seguidor Oculto de la Verdad
An interesting idea. With the leadership change thats going on IC with the Sith, this faction, it's origins and beginning could be well played from a story line standpoint. While I'm not sure how the god idea would fly with other Advanced Knights and Master level classes, you could probably pass yourself off as a manifestation of Typhojem. That could be worked into a interesting RP and story line as well.
