In life, people kill for many reasons. Power, anger, corruption, fear. Yet some people kill to get by; for a living.
Koda Fett

Bounty Hunting was a lucrative business, and with it's rewards luxury homes were affordable, but for how long one kept them was never certain. This apartment atop the high-rises of Nar Shaddaa was outstaying it's welcome, and soon enough Fett would dump it for the next. Perhaps someone remote next time, somewhere he could sit and listen to nothing for hours and think back on the regretful things he would do all over again.

But what about her? That 'kid' who only turned out to be a year or so younger than himself was holed up without a place to go. Wherever Fett decided he would stay, even temporarily, she was there. She had nothing else, not even family. The two were similar to a degree, but her unneeded or wanted advances were thwarted by the Bounty Hunter each and every time. For now she went about her business.

Fett lounged around his apartment in the pants he usually wore when on the hunt, but the knee pads and boots weren't with it, nor was everything else that found it's way into his pockets. A simple tank top to boot, this was an off-day. Or so it seemed as the bounty hunter cycled through the channels on the screen ahead of him. The apartment was clean, for the most part, the kitchen a little sporadic and the odd weapon finding itself here and there. This was his home, and as far as he knew nobody else knew of it.

It had taken Jairdain time, but she had traced him down. She had also taken care to keep it secret. In much of the same way he had found her originally on Iridonia. Their first meeting when he had questioned in her on Mirial. Next meeting she had called to him to ask him her own questions and return to him willingly what she had taken from him. That day she had learned so much more about him than maybe even he realized.

In granting her to use a skill on him, she had seen his whole life up until that point. Jairdain knew his past, his beliefs and his code. How he went about hunting, his ethics and morals. She was confident nobody alive knew him as well as she did except himself. What she didn't know was what had happened since that day.

Now their last meeting on Dagobah had actually gone well. No violence done to either of them and the parting it was known they would meet again. That meeting may be unexpected though and come as a surprise to him.

She stood now outside his building and looked at through the Force. Knowing where was he, her attention drifted to find a way, to his door and getting inside unmolested. The first wasn't going to be much of an issue and she weaved the Force around her. She would disappear from the visual spectrum to the casual glance and could now walk freely into his building.

Making her way to his door proved a little more difficult. Without physical sight, she couldn't read what any sign might have said or the numbers on the doors. In the end it didn't matter and his floor was almost his own.

Since the last meeting had been peaceful, she hoped this one would be as well. Taking a breath, the young woman was actually a bit nervous, but knocked at the door before her concern tried to talk her out of. Taking off the illusion, he would see her standing outside his door if he looked.

The knock on the metallic door came to a surprise, Fett never had any guests, neither did Ailyn - the two were loners in the same respect. Although the Bounty Hunter didn't have guests for another reason, truth be told. His head snapped towards the door at the very sound of it, an inquisitive expression that made him wonder who it really could've been. Ailyn on the other hand was halfway across the living room, her eyes meeting Koda's with an expression that matched his own. Without saying a word he nodded towards the door, shifting from his laying down position to sitting, and then ultimately standing.

Ailyn pressed a button or two on the console by the door, a screen displaying Jairdain was a camera jutted out from next to the door frame and directed it's 'eye' on the Jedi. Something that Jairdain would be able to hear if not see through the force. The fair haired, attractive woman turned back to the Mandalorian who's eyes remained on her with his usual scowl of sorts, almost as if he expected the worst, and she spoke to him in a playful manner, "She a friend of yours?" Her right hand elegantly waving over the small screen by the door.

Jairdain could only sense Fett in the room, but she could hear another; unbeknownst to both Koda or Ailyn, the girl was Force Dead. The Mandalorian moved towards the door, giving the screen which displayed Jairdain a scowl before speaking through the intercom in a bitter tone, "What do you want?"

Nothing violent happened in her direction yet, but that didn't mean Jairdain wasn't prepared for it. She heard the voice of a second person in the room, but couldn't sense her. Maybe it was droid of some kind. Only thing she could think of. The sound though was quite human and it made her more curious. Another question came to her mind, but it was buried quickly and not given the chance to fully form.

His voice answered the door though and asked through the intercom what he wanted. If that camera gave him a good look to her face, it would show she gave the door a rather flat look before she spoke.

"You should know why I'm here, Koda. You have my saber and I came to get it back. I've also got some stuff for you."

After they parted, she had gone back to his ship and taken out of it everything she could salvage. His years of hunting and his trophies had gone down with that ship. A few mementos of his past that he had maybe unwillingly shared with her. She had saved as many as she could and carried them with her.

The Mandalorian's muscular arms crossed over his chest, tucked beneath his armpits. His expression shifted back into something more confused, not quite sure whatever it was she could offer, although he knew all about the saber and half-expected this encounter to come but when it would was something he could never truly know. "You have nothing I want." He spat with spite, his eyes head to his left to get a look at Ailyn.

She stood there with a look of almost childlike jealousy. Her arms also crossed over her chest whilst her right foot continuously tapped at the ground beneath her. "Who is it?" She demanded, speaking entirely out of line and it wasn't as if she didn't know that. If it weren't for Fett she would be dead, she was grateful but to an extent in which unwarranted feelings were cast upon him.

The Bounty Hunter gave her no response, however, only raising an eyebrow of warning almost. Though just like Jairdain, Ailyn knew Fett more than most but not to the extent in which Jairdain did. So, in reaction to Koda's 'warning' she scoffed and rolled her eyes, even. Something that some of the most dangerous men in the galaxy wouldn't dare do to such a lethal hunter.

Though he spat his words at her, Jairdain didn't actually feel the emotion from him. He masked how he really felt and it seemed he only spoke this to try and turn her away. She was more stubborn than that though and wasn't going to give up easily. When he said she didn't have anything he wanted, she reached into one of her pockets and brought out some of the braids.

They were cleaned up, the muck removed from them and in a condition where he could still display them if he wanted.

Her voice dropped to a whisper, "I have others."

Again she heard that female voice and it seemed to hold a touch of jealousy and she had a difficult time keeping a smile off her face. There was no chance of any sort of relationship happening between her and Koda, but it was obvious this other female saw her as a potential threat. The most Jairdain expected from Koda was respect. Anything more than that would shock her greatly. However, that humor would likely show in her eyes, but it might not be picked up on by the camera watching her.

"Will you let me in?"

With humored grunt Ailyn turned away, walking away with her arms still folded over her chest, disappearing into another room - out of sight. "Good luck." She spoke, her voice barely audible as she rounded the corner. Was she agitated? Probably, but Fett was oblivious when it came to women. He wasn't empathetic and struggled to tap into how a particular individual is feeling. He even lacks his own insight, unable to grasp who he is himself.

"You can keep them."

He cared not for the trophies anymore, items like that meant nothing to him anymore. Without them his reputation wouldn't fade, it would remain a constant, the only thing he could truly be sure of in this galaxy: the fact that Koda Fett will always be the best. Though something washed over him, she did deserve some respect, and he wasn't some criminal thug with no honor. He owed her, maybe it was time to return her lightsaber.

The door's lock clicked, followed by a swoosh as it moved upwards into the frame itself.

She heard the steps of the other woman walking away and his reply to her words. In the end, Koda opened the door for her. Hearing it open and feeling the breeze of its movement on her face, she stepped in.

When he said she could keep them it came as a surprise to her. However, she didn't want them for herself. They weren't hers.

"Why?"

It was asked in reply to his words.

"You took pride in them before, allowed me to learn how you got them. In a way, feel your hunt of them and how you felt as you captured each one. Now you don't want them? What has happened to you, Koda."

She knew where he stood and turned in that direction. The hand that held the braids was at her side, her other hand hung at her side as well, but wasn't touching her current lightsaber. There was no threat in her stance or body language, but maybe a small sense of tenseness or nerves.

His head turned over his shoulder as he continued on his path, moving in the direction of where the majority of his trophies were held. Jairdain could feel that now, the collection on his former ship was nothing in comparison to what this is. It wasn't as if Jairdain could see it but the apartment was beautifully made from it's architecture, furniture and more. It even smelt nice, and no doubt it had nothing to do with Fett but instead Ailyn who was off elsewhere.

"Those trophies never held any real significance, they were merely obligatory mementos I gathered over time. The people I killed, whether it be just or not, had their corpses looted for something of significance as if I needed to remind myself of what I have done. I don't. I'm the very best bounty hunter this galaxy has to offer, Jairdain; everyone in the galaxy knows who I am and what I've done."

The comment was truthful, yet still riddled with arrogance and self-assurance. Whether he was wrong or not didn't matter. His left hand waved across a portion of the wall as he rounded the corner to his right, a new set of 'trophies' he had gathered, ranging from taxidermy heads, lightsabers, braids, monster teeth and so on.

"These are just as insignificant as any other common criminal in the bowels of Nar Shaddaa. They're mine, but truthfully they are meaningless."

Perhaps she was able to feel the presence of her lightsaber within this room, calling to her, or maybe Jairdain was too caught up in Fett's confident ramble.

He turned and lead the way into the flat. Not being able to see what it looked like, it almost felt like a home though. Probably more to do with the female that was his companion than anything Koda would do himself. As they walked though, she could sense what was ahead of them. His true trophy collection.

When he spoke, she felt what he said was true. The ones she had rescued were trifles to what he had here. However as he spoke, she sensed just how much pride he had. It bordered even on arrogance, however she did know how good he was. Both in the past and now.

Of his words, what he said last stung her a little. He spoke truth, but to actually hear him speak that were meaningless made her wonder why he kept them. Over everything he said, she felt the crystals of the various lightsabers and the call of her own.

The lightsaber that had been with her from the day she was knighted, through battles with her as a Jedi, her days as a sith and through her subsequent return to the path she had started on. That saber might be meaningless to Koda, but it meant so much to her. It was why she was here. To get it back.

"To see I see is wrong, but I understand better now Koda."

Even if Jairdain had wanted to pursue a more intimate realationship, she knew it was out of the question. His love had died long ago. He trusted few and allowed even fewer close to him. The line had been drawn before they ever met and she wasn't about to cross it. She didn't know if he trusted her and she trusted him about as far as she could throw him without using the Force. However, the mutual bond of respect was there and right now there was no threat in her stance or movement.

Reaching out a hand, she pulled her lightsaber from the place it rested among the others. Within a heartbeat it was on her hip. If he didn't make an aggressive move, that is where it would remain.

The Bounty Hunter merely watched as the lightsaber was manipulated through the air and set upon her belt. His head turning with it as it soared on by. His mind wandered briefly, coming to an internal question as to why she needed the original one whilst she already had a replacement, sentimental value perhaps? It couldn't be, Jedi didn't have such things now did they? Being a successful Bounty Hunter was much like that of a Jedi's life, devoid of attachments. The irony wasn't lost on Fett, either, but at times he struggled to keep that in check. If he had then his former wife would never of existed and Ailyn would be stuck on the streets on Bidamount. Maybe it was for the best he didn't ignore them, then again, maybe it wasn't...

Ailyn beside Fett with two glasses of blue milk, offering one to the man who would immediately take the opportunity to take it from her. Although he simply held onto it whilst she sipped. The woman's eyes falling upon Jairdain's, not quite realising that she was blind. "So... is that all you came for?" She so rudely asked with a questioning look sprawled upon her face. The Bounty Hunter only craned his neck to look towards Ailyn with a neutral expression as she leant against him.

Being an empath, Jairdain picked up on the small curiosty Koda had for her wanting her original lightsaber back. He assumed she was a Jedi while since the day they met and all the other times they crossed paths, she never once said she was a Jedi. Even stated as much on Dagobah. Being allied with and working with them did not mean she followed their code.

He gave no voice to his question thougha dn she had enough respect for him to not just pry it from his mind. Unless he asked for her reason or questioned her path, he would remain in the dark about both of them.

Hearing the footsteps of Ailyn, Jairdain could not 'see' her in any way at all. Through the Force there was nothing there, but she knew there was. When she spoke, Jairdain would attempt to focus her attention on where the girl would be. If attention was paid, then she would notice her eyes were unfocused, but she didn't mention she was blind at all. Koda already knew this information.

"Technically yes, this is what I came for. However, I am enjoying the conversation and company. I am Jairdain."

Not knowing anything at all about this girl, Jairdain felt like having a bit of fun with her.

"Wouldn't you say you're intruding?" Ailyn barked back, only to be slightly shoved by Koda who gave her a look as if he was confused, and he was, this wasn't usually like her - although another woman other than Ailyn hadn't been here ever. However, she only shot him a familiar mischievous grin as she realigned herself against him once more, effectively leaning with her arms folded whilst Fett merely sipped at the Blue Milk.

"I mean, if the big-man has your lightsaber then I doubt you're friends?" her head darting between the two before continuing with a simple, "Right?" Naturally, she was curious, her interest piqued whilst Fett's died. Rubbing the bridge of his nose with an exasperated sigh. By now, at this stage of annoyance he would react with violence, but not around her.

Jairdain was unable to see the body movement of Ailyn, but the voice had almost her whole attention. Part of it was still on Koda. She felt confusion off of him, but didn't probe further than that. In time maybe it would become clear as to why she couldn't 'see' this girl and the realationship the two of them had. It almost seemed as if the girl was jealous.

"If I was intruding as you put it, I highly doubt Koda would have let me in willingly."

If she gathered up no other information, she could tell there was no romantic attachment to Ailyn from Koda. In fact it seemed to be more like he was father, big brother or mentor to her. It was something he needed in his life, but Jairdain doubted he would ever admit such a thing.

Ailyn commented she doubted they were friends since he did have her lightsaber and she had to give the girl credit. She knew nothing about Ailyn at all and got no sense of age off her due to a lack of being able to read her.

"Relationships can be confusing at times. We're not exactly friends, but not enemies either. If we were, we wouldn't be standing around conversing, instead we would be fighting. I respect Koda Fett and I'll leave it at that."

There was no tone of admonishment, annoyance or anything. Almost the opposite of what Koda displayed. He was getting annoyed with the girl and maybe even herself, but she didn't think he would lash out at either of them yet.

The relationship between Koda and Ailyn was odd, and definitely perplexing to the man involved - yet she was certain. He saved her life, and as a result she stayed with him. Maybe it was saviour's syndrome, perhaps she loved him, or were they just companions where one favoured the other one played pointless games? He didn't know, in truth he was rather helpless. However, Ailyn knew what this as exactly. A place to be. She had nothing else, and so here she was, the tinge of feelings she felt and her flirtatious nature was something that merely added to the mix. Yet she was jealous, and not even she knew why. Maybe it was the adventure she missed out on.

"I didn't pin for someone with conviction." Fett said as cold and detached as ever, the hand rubbing at the bridge of his nose rejoining his arms over his chest in a passing movement as both hung loosely by his side, his left hand grasping the top of the glass still. The woman next to him gave a roll of her eyes, slight smile and shake of her head.

"He's just never been the one to make friend on the job, you know, with all the murder and whatnot..." Her voice trailed off, giving a slight nod as she realised that he was on the job when he found her. Ironic. If she truly believed in that then what did Ailyn view herself in regards to the Bounty Hunter.

A sense of confusion, but not quite crossed over Koda and mixed in slightly with his irritation. When he spoke, his tone was cold and detached, but Jairdain felt that it that just a mask he wore as much as his helmet. It was so much a part of him, he may not even know that it was there. She wasn't going to point it out to him though. It wasn't her path in life to point out where she felt another person was going wrong. If he ever realized it, she thought it would hit him like a load of bricks.

When the girl spoke, it indicated she had been around Koda for some amount of time and picked up on at least a bit of the personal code he followed. She almost wondered if he as going to attempt to guide Ailyn in his steps and turn her into a bounty hunter as well.

"Very true. I've come across him a few times now when he's been on the job."

Not going into any details, if the girl asked, she would answer though. Jairdain also knew she might be starting to outstay her welcome. The girl made her curious and wanting to stay longer.

She was outstaying her welcome in all honesty. Fett wasn't one for social interactions, mere isolated brooding and the odd chat from Ailyn, who herself left him alone for the most part. He had no intentions making her into a Bounty Hunter, for he knew what that life entailed and it wasn't something she would thrive in - regardless of the help he could offer, but simply wouldn't. His brown eyes shifted towards the ground where they just blankly stared, nothing was being thought even - he was just staring. As the girl did nothing but look smug.

"So..." She trailed once again, looking to the blind woman expectantly. Conversations were neither their forte, especially after spending enough time together. It was an isolated and rather boring existence, at least for Ailyn who remained in the home most days. Fett was a murderous nomad, however. Well, that's how he's been described in the past.

Suddenly, though, Koda's head moved back up - facing Jairdain after he very well made the decision that this was enough so that the man could return to doing absolutely nothing - but anything was better than this. "We're done here." He mentioned callously, as if there was a sudden change in his feelings towards this situation, he was no longer a sliver of welcoming but in turn a little hostile with his annoyance and so on.

For a few moments and only that, nobody spoke until Ailyn interjected a questionable single syllable as if she was at a loss on how to continue or react to what Jairdain had said. Koda was a bastion of tightly coiled emotions held close, but that irritation reared its head and he stated their encounter was done. She had gotten what she came here for and learned a little more about Koda, but was still curious about the girl.

Time would tell on if she was given the opportunity to speak with her again. Maybe invite her out for caf or something. Of course that was just an idle dream of Jairdain. In reality in her own way, she was similar to the both of them. Even though she was the advisor to Bradshaw and Crown Prince of Commenor, she really had no friends and when she wasn't on the job, she spent her time in solitude.

"As you wish."

She made no move to leave though and would wait for Koda to guide her out.

He wouldn't give her the satisfaction, unfortunately enough. He knew she could guide herself out and as a result merely watched with disinterested eyes as she stood there. "Now." He reinforced with an irritated tone of voice, yet his face entirely neutral - yet still, he entrusted Jairdain to probe his mind to see how he truly felt - it wasn't as if she was new to the idea of it. His glare turned into one of waiting, but of course it was lost on the blind woman as per usual.

Ailyn, on the other-hand, formed a smirk across her pretty face. It was all too entertaining to see someone oppose Fett, at least to her, nobody had and lived for long. Yet still if Jairdain didn't leave still, it was Ailyn who would work forwards - attempting to guide her out. Walking with her towards the door if she would allow it as Koda went elsewhere in the large apartment similar to a penthouse.

It was no issue of Jairdain being able to pick up on his emotions, she was an empath. Of course, she could have seen her own way out, but choose to stand her ground. After all it would be rather impolite to just turn away from even an unwilling host to leave. However, the girl stepped forward and would touch her to guide her out.

Accepting the offer, she did not resist the guidance offered. Even if she had no real sense of the girl, their physical proximity was close enough she could feel her at least. Once she got back home, she would look up to learn what it could be that prevented her from picking up anything from her through the Force.

"I never did get your name. While Koda knows mine, I never told you mine either. I'm Jairdain."
