SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Seventeen Forward - A lounge for both crew and enlisted to come together, sit down and enjoy a hot meal that is not galley quality. Grab a drink (synthol) and enjoy some music from the jukebox, watch the holo or play a few rounds of cards.

  • Uprated Infirmary - Unlike some of the smaller vessels where the infirmary may only serve as a meatball shop of horrors, the Stormcloud-class comes equipped with an uprated infirmary that has a small triage center and two operating rooms along with the standard sickbay compliments. Additionally, she comes equipped with a dental office and a dental surgeon should the need arise.

  • Meteorology Labs - Stormcloud gets her name not just for her armament but for her ability to track atmospheric conditions. When maps are updated and new planets are added the Stormcloud comes out to conduct atmospheric studies. The Stormcloud’s refit now comes equipped with a Weather Monitor to aid in this endeavor.

  • Geological Labs - In addition to the study of the atmosphere scientists also conduct surveys regarding a planet’s geological foundations and how it behaves so that colonial affairs can make a more informed decision with regards to founding a new colony.

  • Science Labs - If there is any vegetation a botanist would be required to study, and thus the Stormcloud is ready to do so. The labs beyond Meteorology and Geology include Botany, Zoology, Anthropology and several other disciplines.

  • Modified Sensor Arrays: Equipped with Atmosphere, Radiation, and Seismic sensors that are traditionally built for droids, or exploration equipment the First Order’s engineers modified them for starship development with the SCXR1 being the first subject of this. After a successful run, the sensors were installed on the SCXR2.

  • Bridge - Where the Commanding Officer of this fine starship shall command maintain command of his ship, this is where he and the other officers (senior officers while on alpha shift) shall coordinate their efforts to ensure victory.

  • Security Offices - Due to the size of the Vindicator-class it comes standard with a security office, meant for the chief of security and his/her officers to enforce the laws of both the First Order and the First Imperial Navy. They also maintain and track weapons that are used by the personnel on the ship, keep them clean and ensure that weapons are always stocked in their respective armories so that when needed any service member may grab them for use of defense. Additionally, security personnel keep take up contraband, guard the brig, and escort VIP to and from various locations. A member of Security may be present on the bridge to assist the Tactical Officer, by keeping track of shields, weapons power, and hull integrity. They’re also trained to handle the Electronic Warfare CM/CCM Systems.

  • Tactical Offices - Neighboring the security officers, are the tactical officers whose job it is to maintain the weapons outside the ship. They study strategy and in the case of the Vindicator-class work closely with Strategic Operations to ensure that during battle both Starfighters and Tactical personnel are working together as one cohesive unit. Additionally, tactical personnel are always learning how to be more effective with their Warship’s weaponry. They’re trained to use the Sensors and Targeting Systems. Tactical Officers work closely with their Security Officer friends.

  • Main Engineering - The heart of the Stormcloud-class starship are her engines and here you will find the Chief Engineer and his/her personnel working hard to keep the Stormcloud running. They’re also trained to use the Hazard and Damage Control Systems, along with the Environmental Control Systems. Works closely with Security while aboard the bridge to keep hull integrity, and shield systems online.

  • Lower Engineering - Due to the amount of power required to keep the Stormcloud going additional engines are placed here, where a hangar should be. The Assistant Chief Engineer is located here as he/she maintains the additional engines and ensures the Stormcloud is kept cool and working.

  • Fabrication/Manufacturing - Or the shop as it’s simply referred to is relatively small compared to what is in the Inflictor-class but here, the Stormcloud’s engineers are able to create parts and make them as needed due to the Stormcloud’s need for continued repair and maintenance.

  • Fitness Center - While standard aboard all First Imperial ships, this fitness center comes equipped with a studio, and two handball courts.

  • Hygiene - A hair salon and dry cleaning center are available aboard the Stormcloud as well.

  • Logistics Management - Who keeps tracks of all the inventory, supplies, spreadsheets, power usage and overall personnel? Operations, from quartermasters to personnel officers the men and women who work Logistics are also trained to handle communications systems and typically house the cryptologists and linguists under their branch as well. They work with just about everyone while on the bridge.

  • Electronic Warfare CM/CCM Systems - In the new age of war, one must always be prepared for the electronic side of the battle, the Vindicator-class comes equipped to handle such aggressions and to unleash its own barrage of electronic warfare as well. (Countermeasure / Counter-countermeasure)

  • Mine Storage - Housed above lower engineering, the Stormcloud's full payload is split between four storage units on this level and one above.

Strengths:

  • [+] Gravity Weapons: The new Stormcloud has put down her baradium and picked up interdiction mines and missiles instead. Making her perhaps less of a direct threat and more of an indirect one as she’s now more prone to use these weapons as a method of slowing her opponents down.
Weaknesses:

  • [-] Supernova: With her new gear and new weapons, comes the increased threat of becoming a singularity herself. With a hypermatter reactor drive at her core, one can only assume the tremendous amount of damage that could be caused by sabotaging one of these vessels. Interdiction weaponry, hypermatter reactor? She’s practically a ticking time bomb, even more so than she had been previously with her baradium missiles.
Description:
The Montague program continues and next on the docket, the Stormcloud. Now unlike previous models such as the Fortan or the Bolt. These new Stormclouds will be slowly integrated into the First Order, while the Imperial nation collects the baradium payloads and shuffles them to newer ships that are coming down the line.

The Stormcloud took the longest to refit as she became a testbed for various technologies and equipment. Her first model the SCXR1 was used to test bed new anti-stealth technology that for now remains classified, she also tested new modified sensors for planetary development. Those sensors were installed on the SCXR2 which was then used as the final product for the First Order Navy to sign off on.

Fleet Admiral Fiolette Yvarro contacted the Bespin Imperial Association along with the Vassek Imperial Association to see if either one would be up for sponsoring the next round of ships. Moving production away from Varonat in favour of the canyon planet Vassek was a subtle move to push First Order production deeper into their own territory. Bespin declined having already seen more than its share of production.

Dosuun has shuffled its production of the Stormcloud back to Rakata Beta, while Yalara and now Skye step up to take on production. FIV Tempest II, Thunderchild II, Titan II, Tormentor II and other various Stormcloud vessels will roll off the line here within the next few weeks.
