Stenax Guard
Out of Character Information:

General Information:

  • Unit Name: Stenax Guard
  • Affiliation: Samka Derith, First Order (defacto)
  • Classification: Infantry but capable of performing other tasks such as sabotage or recon.
  • Equipment: Situational. Typically primitive Stenax tools such as spears and knives mixed with basic First Order rifles and explosives supplied by Derith. The Stenax dislike armour by nature and will usually wear only very basic cloths to cover their dignity.

Combat Information:

  • Availability: Uncommon
  • Deployment: Minor
  • Strengths and Weaknesses:
(+) Devoted: The Stenax guard believe their leader is chosen by the God Vol. They obey her command unquestioningly and will fight to the death in their duty.
(+) Strength: Stenax are a naturally strong species and these warriors are all the stronger through their training. Their sheer brute force are able to overpower most humans with ease.
(+) Flight: Stenax are winged. This gives them a distinct advantage in mobility, able to escape perilous situations, swiftly reinforce allies and perform unique tasks from the air.

(-) Ill-Equipped: As highlighted above, the Stenax shun advanced weaponry and armour in favour of their warrior traditions. When necessary, they may use blaster rifles and other such tech but it will come only at the insistence of Derith who holds no true love for her brutish followers and is relatively unconcerned by casualty counts.
(-) Backward: Stenax society has been isolationist and xenophobic for thousands of years and are dismissive of the wider galaxy. Military strategy of off-worlders are dismissed. Basic combat techniques are the only ones deployed by the Stenax Guard without outside direction.
(-) Lone Wolves: The Stenax do not play well with others. This has made any sort of cooperation with the First Order's armed forces difficult. Without near constant oversight from Derith, they can be expected to break off from allied control and attempt their own, often less efficient, methods of victory.

  • Description:
The Stenax are an isolationist race native to Stenos but with a vast colony on Kulthis. This Kulthis colony was infiltrated by Samka Derith and her allies during the First Order's assault against the Silver Jedi Order in the region. There, the locals were deceived into believing the young Ren was a messenger from the God Vol. Since then, the colony faithfully serves her. Many have migrated to Skye and Virgillia although a large chunk of the population remains at Kulthis. With their allegiance came the Stenax Guard. A disorganised band of warriors and hunters, pledging themselves to the so-called Voice of Vol. Far from a structured military and closer to a war band, nonetheless they will obey the words of their God's messenger. Their numbers swell daily as more Stenax on Stenos and beyond are contacted with the news of their religious purpose.

Please link the Stenax species in the submission proper.

Samka Derith said:

  • The wookieepedia article mentions nothing of the sort. Either provide canon backing for this strength or remove it.

Added the link.

I've removed the exact comparisons to other species but whether they are strong or not isn't up for debate. The article itself says they are large and muscular, stating the size of their muscles twice in a short article. While they're not a commonly used enough species to have a source clearly state "They are strong" in bold letters, it can be inferred from their mere appearance that they are supposed to be a physically strong species.

Watch your tone, please. Whether or not something is 'up for debate' is for the judge to decide, not the submitter.

With the unfounded comparison removed, this looks fine to me. Pending secondary.
