Star Wars Lightsabers Vrs. Halo Energy Sword

Hey there guys! A while back I made a post about the chance of Star wars Chaos helping me with my homework. As of this post, I have turned in my assignment and completed the required fields of comparing and contrasting the weapons and which one would be more practical to use. And this is not biased.... maybe.

Here you guys go.

Lightsabers Vs. Halo Energy sword
What are the differences and similarities between a Lightsaber from the Star Wars Franchise, and the Energy Sword from Halo? Both are known in their respective origins to be very powerful and sacred weapons used in honor of those before them. That much is true. However, the question is, which one is stronger, more practical to use, and most of all, How do they work in the first place? These questions can be answered.
Both the Lightsaber and Energy sword are blades made of plasma, or in essence, energy in its raw form. Both can cut through many things, and are not just powerful in the sense of using the weapon, but can instill fear in an opponent just by showing the weapon! As for the difference between the two, We are going to talk about their energy sources and how they operate. As for power, within the Halo games, the energy sword can be shown being pierced through people, while a Jedi or Sith with a Lightsaber can be seen swinging it like a sword. We will also go over the cutting power. How much can both or one weapon cut through? Even more so, with the application of the weapon, how is one used? Who can possibly use either of these weapons?
The powersource for the Lightsaber is used in a Diathium Energy cell. This energy cell houses a special gas that when super-heated produces plasma. This plasma will collect together and through the use of a negatively charged fissure. Causing a magnetic field that will keep the plasma from spraying everywhere. This plasma is simply heated up by a process of lenses that focus the concentration of energy to form a blade. However, this process produces nor expends no energy in any sort of form. This is because of the Magnetic fields that hold the plasma together. And provide a covering in which does not cool down the plasma. As well, the plasma provides a circuit for the magnetic fields. Providing energy for the motors in which create the energy fields. Meaning the blade is a self-sustaining plasma rod. The only way for the weapon to use energy, is for an object to phase or go through the circuit. This is where the energy cell and the crystal come into play, providing energy for the lightsaber in which will compensate for energy consumption, and produce more plasma in which allows the blade to continuously cut. However, the energy cell and powering devices for the Energy sword are very much different. Buy having two ionized “blades” of gasses in which ignite under high heats to form plasma. This gas is then housed in magnetic fields as well. When activated it then produces the actual blade to its design. However, as the blade cuts through objects, it uses up the expendable energy housed within the grip/hilt of the weapon. Once the energy is gone, it’s gone. The only way to activate the gas once more, is to replace the battery cell.
How are they different? The lightsaber uses crystals and lenses to magnify the energy, only to loop back by a negatively charged fissure. As well as using magnetic fields to keep the weapon together using the Plasma to create a self-sustaining blade at the single touch of a button. However, the energy sword constantly uses the energy it contains. While the energy just sitting there uses very little, if over a long period of time, it will run out. Even more so when cutting through objects, the energy sword needs to have its batteries replaced every so often. And as so, the battery also has the chance to corrode over time, or even lose energy simply by not being used. In this case, the Lightsaber wins the round of having the more sustainable energy source, as well as compensation for constant use either now, or a thousand years in the future.
The cutting power is very notable of both weapons as well. Able to go through shields, metal, armor, and of course, the enemy whoever it may be. With the lightsaber, it can cut through many objects in which will literally melt the object’s molecular structure down. Meaning, it cuts items much like a factory torch would. Melting the object fast enough that it would be considered “cutting.” However, there are special metals which have properties that can either short out the lightsaber, or even prevent it from cutting through. The energy sword is able to produce the same results, however, the energy sword uses energy when cutting or when in use. As such, the weapon will lose cutting power over time, and even lose all energy stored within the battery. Meaning it will shut off when used too often, or not at all. While on the other hand, the lightsaber can withstand that kind of punishment. Even having specific crystals in which have a thinner crystalline lattice in which produces a thinner, stronger blade to superior cutting power. The lightsaber wins this round because of the viability to have constant energy to cut items, have constant power to cut said items, and even has different types of power levels in which can cut faster than the “standard” weapon. Even with the metals that can prohibit the use of the lightsaber, the metals are very far and few between. Hard to find, and even harder to use.
Uses for these weapons vary. Within the Halo series, the general users are a species called Sangheili. These Sangheili have a caste system in which only the higher levels of the caste systems, and a rare few who can obtain such a prized weapon can use it. These few in numbers are trained to use it to a high proficiency. However, the user can change by said nobleman or person to die, or simply drop the weapon. Allowing ANYONE to use the weapon. As the ionized blades do have weight to them, they are very easy to use and can be used by the Sangheili, or even humans, Spartans, and even the man himself, Master Chief, should they pick one up. However, the lightsaber is a very prized tool. A weightless blade made of the plasma energy literally held together by magnetic fields. Making it very practical for use of the wielder expending very little energy to wield the blade. Although, because of the weightless blade, and the very light materials used in the lightsaber hilt itself, the weapon is very confusing, and in some cases impossible for others to use correctly. A simple swing could mean the death of someone’s life, or even the injury of the wielder. A correct and strict training lessons that span for years on end to even use the blade, make this available to a small amount of people. So much so, that it is listed that only Force users who can use the blades as per their ability to have a higher functioning abilities. Even if those who can use the weapon lose it, about the only people who can pick it up, and use it without cutting their limbs off, would be one of the others who can use the weapon as well.
For this category, I would say that neither win. The energy sword can be used by anybody. Depending upon who you are and what side you are on, this could mean the difference between living and dying. It is also bad because if you get your own weapon taken away, and used against you, well, you won’t be having a good day. It’s easily used, and requires little to no training to stick the pointy end into the other man. The lightsaber is very hard to use. Needing lesson after lesson to simply carry the blade and use it means that it greatly limits who can use the weapon. Out of the vast amount of people in the Star Wars universe, only around one percent of them can use the weapon properly. This translates to not seeing many who can use the weapon, and allows for people to not take the weapon, and use it against you. However, this also means that everybody else who does not know how to use the weapon, would more than likely injure or kill themselves, or someone else when trying to use it. Both have their pros and cons in this category.
Varying uses and combinations of the weapons have been seen in many forms. People using two energy blades at once, even an Ax version of the energy blade, though not considered canon technology. The energy blade is simply, the energy blade. There are not a lot of other variations of the weapon other than fan made color changes, or adaptations of the weapon. The lightsaber, on the other hand, has many different variations and forms of a lightsaber. Training saber, Light foil, Saber club, cane, pike or lance, double bladed, cross guard, and many more than that are viable, and are considered under the category of “Lightsaber.” As with any kind of weapon in the real world or in a made up, fantasy, or alternate reality, weapons need training to use. As such, the varying types of lightsabers need special training to use as a weapon, as well as to learn how to defend against, should you be attacked by someone with a special weapon.
This section is clearly the lightsaber. Having so many unique ways to create your own lightsaber makes it very possible to overcome one’s foe in many different kinds of manners. Be it with a shorter thinner blade to throw or get within the reach of a weapon, or a larger, wider blade that allows for heavy hits, and long ranges to prevent others from injuring you at short distances. Even the hidden weapon as a Lightsaber cane that can look like any old man’s cane, and with a sudden press of a button, Lightsaber in all of it’s colors and glory. The lightsaber can even have special crystals that change color, or have different attributes to allow usage underwater, to allow nobody to use it, or to increase the mental capacity to stay calm in fights and battles. The lightsaber while not a tool for everybody, but a tool to the few, can be made into however they want with any specifications on how the hilt, blade, and even the extra powers in which the lightsaber can offer.
All in all, the lightsaber is likely the better choice of a weapon. Able to have a self-sustaining blade at the present time, or a thousand years from now, a varying use and versions of lightsabers hilts, color, and special properties create a uniqueness for the weapon, and the cutting power that can be used almost constantly in almost every condition. The cons of having very little people to use it, meaning it is very likely you can’t even pick one up and use it properly, however, if you do happen to be a lightsaber wielder, that means you won’t have a lot of people to challenge you or trying to have a duel between lightsaber wielders like Sith or Jedi. In my mind, the lightsaber is the best weapon out of the two.

The energy sword is solid, the lightsaber is not. If the two were to come into contact with the other the former would be ripped through by the latter.
