Intent: To make a nifty new fabric that can see normal wear and tear, but is stretchy using known canon materials and techniques. Yay for supply and demand!
Development Thread: if required
Manufacturer: Arceneau Trade Company | Browncoat Arms & Industrial |
Model: Spidersilk Elaxtex
Affiliation: Open Market to ATC Customers
Modularity: Yes
Production: Mass
Material: Elastex, Shell Spider Silk, Memory Plastic and Flex-armor technology.

Classification : Multipurpose
Weight: Varying, In Pic; 1.7kg
Quality: 4

Special features:

+ Very resistant to Blasters and Vibroblades - Much like Shellspider Silk, it retains it's ability to deflect blasters and vibroblades.
+ Stretchy and pliable - Using known memory technology already found in the galaxy and flex armor methods, the elaxtex and shell spider silk hybrid is able to stretch and expand and also revert to its original size. This is only for a limited time, as gross expansion and regular wear will require a replacement.

Description:

This fabric is used to make bodygloves or similar items with moisture wicking properties that allow a full-body, form-fitting garment. Much like the type worn by Imperial stormtroopers, this specialized fabric using established textile methods and technology blends together to create Spidersilk Elastex.

This fabric, if used in a body glove, allows much freedom of motion, much like the characteristic black body glove of Sith trooper armor. However, the differences lie in the following.

The fabric is a base of shell spider silk. Shell spider silk is a textile that is used to create armor that resembles normal clothing. It has special characteristics that allow it to deflect vibroblades and blaster pistols. Arceneau trade company used its vast resources to research commonly used textile techniques to collaborate with a lighter, but far more stretchable alternative to the traditional Shell spider silk.

Using Bi-state Memory plastic techniques along with that of Flex-armor, Elastex threads interwoven with the Shell spider silk, it provided a far more stretchier alternative, while still providing a measure of the Shell Spider Silk properties. The benefits are the following. Much like Shell Spider silk, the lighter Spidersilk Elastex version retains its ability to deflect vibroblades and blaster pistols. It's pliable nature allows a degree of stretchiness, however there is a limit. An extreme gross stretch of the fabric may require a degree of time for it to return to it's normal pliable state, about five minutes before it is suitable for use again. Consistent extreme gross stretching may wane the fabrics pliable abilities, making it redundant for use and requiring the purchase of a replacement.

If used in a bodyglove form, it is a custom made piece, allowing only a limited production of the product.

Proof is a strong word. How about Very Resistant to Blasters and Vibroblades.

Other than that, snazzy.
