Description: Based off of Baragwin ion cannon designs, the SIW Ion-X is a fighter-based ion cannon designed to compensate for the inability of a typical ion cannon having any destructive capability. As in a traditional ion cannon, ionization of the laser bolt prior to its exiting the barrel allows for the bolt of energy to have a significant disabling effect on shields, turrets, and subsystems. However, the diatium comprising the ionizing chamber is shaped in such a fashion as to alter the shape of the charge, causing a modest degree of physical damage to the target. The catch is that while the weapon can technically do more damage to an enemy craft than a standard ion cannon, continuous fire will overcharge the diatium in the focusing chamber and force the weapon to stop firing until the energy naturally discharges. As such, it recommended that this weapon be utilized in pairs or quads, or be fired in bursts.

This isn't how ion cannon works. And if you want to create a new weapon we'd like to see RP on it. For now this is denied and archived. If you want to pursue it at a later date after doing more research and role play I will judge it.
