Silence is the Sharper Sword; The Hunt for Harrison

https://youtu.be/DJztXj2GPfk

LOCATION: FRIDA'S SPACEPORT CANTINA, NAR SHADDAA
EQUIPMENT: IN BIO
CURRENT MOOD: ANTSY
CURRENT TARGET: [member="Connor Harrison"]

Frida's Spaceport Cantina was on the second level of Nar Shaddaa. That said a lot about the place. If the bars topside were sketchy on this planet, one layer down was even more so. Outside, a couple of homeless squatted in the squalor, panhandling for spare change. The interior didn't look much more refined.

Various species lined the inside of the Cantina. A human and a Rodian ordered drinks. A Chevin joked with a Twi'lek. A couple of Talz whispered quietly in the corner. But, the most prominent sight was that of Ghorua the Shark.

The Herglic sat in a side booth, on a chair made specially for him. Standing up, he was 10'5'', a behemoth of a man, thick black skin pulled taut over a round, angular face. His eyes were void of any color, little black holes in his sockets. He wore his Koodan-Class armor, sculpting his form into a large plasteel colossus. Muscles were hidden behind protective plates. Rows of serrated teeth glinted behind a thin smile as he waited for his team.

The Shark was feeling ambitious. Ever since his first big score on a Republic Senator, he had been doing small jobs; a First Order trooper here, a smuggler there... He had gotten by with going after smaller prey. But, when Ghorua had seen the bounty on a certain Jedi Master... Well, he was intrigued, to say the least. He had put together a team, one that may stand a chance against Harrison. He had only ever met one or two of them in person, but they all came highly recommended.

He had hired his go-to slicer, [member="Marcus Lok"], to look into it for him. He should be arriving soon as well. They went pretty far back. The Herglic had to admit; the Mandalorian Lok knew his way around a datapad.

The hunters that would be going on this mission would hopefully perform up to Ghorua's standards. The Shark had worked with [member="Darlyn Excron"] in the past, and knew him to be a capable fighter, as well as having a bit of finesse to him. [member="Valashu Elahad"], to Ghorua's knowledge, was an assassin, who used a bow and arrow. The goliath had met another of that ilk before, and he was impressed by the simplicity of the weapon, and how complex one could make it. [member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"] was a bit of an enigma to the Shark. He did not know much of the man people called 'the Bounty Hunter', but if he had earned that title, he had to be good.

So Ghorua sat, and waited for his team to arrive. The job would be tough, but Ghorua was hopeful. Things hadn't been going well for him lately, but perhaps this was the big break he needed.

He watched the crowds mile by, and glanced at the catina he was supposed to meet at. With a flick of his hand, His hood was thrown back, and he pulled down his face mask as he pushed open the door, his eyes instantly searching every exit, and all those inside. He stopped dead in his tracks as his eyes landed on a... man that appeared to be Herglic, stood about ten foot tall, had black eyes that made him seem like a demon spawn, and was rippling with muscles so big it made Nate feel small and insignificant. He approached wearily, and stood in front of the big man.

"I take it you're Ghorua? Phantoms, Nate Phantoms... we still waiting on the others?"

[member="Ghorua the Shark"]

Darlyn, for all his eagerness to get a little bit of a reputation with a bigger hunt, was still not a good morning person, or whenever he managed to wake up. It didn't help that he had to find whatever places he could to sleep each night. The joys of being poor, he supposed. Regardless of his financial situation, however, he did have a bright spot today. His semi-mentor [member="Ghorua the Shark"] had gotten a bigger job than he was used to lined up, and now they were finally going to be making a move. So he was meeting him, amusingly, at the same spot they had first met.

Stepping into the cantina, he easily spotted the Herglic and second hunter, one wearing his own cloak. He instinctively reached down and held tightly to his lightsaber as he approached, his hood up over his head the entire time. Upon reaching them, he offered a smile and sat down across from Ghorua. "Didn't start the party yet did we? I hate being late." He chuckled to help accent the lighthearted query, as he turned his head to [member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"]. "Darlyn Excron. And you are?"

Without turning, he felt [member="Darlyn Excron"]'s presence approach, and he instinctively went to grab his saber staff, but then realized that this fellow was at least considered remotely friendly... to his best knowledge. The man was also in a cloak, but Cleary refused to take down his hood, his eyes catching the light from underneath his hood.

"...Phantom, Nate Phantoms... but uh.. if you wanna dance, all you gotta do is ask,"

His hand pushed aside his cloak and rested on his lightsaber, the tone of his voice was tricky, it was calm and welcoming, but at the same time, soft and deadly. He then smiled, saying he was joking... somewhat and then pulling his hand back from his saber before leaning up against the wall, his eyes wandering over the other faces in the bar.

Ghorua smiled widely when Nate approached. The Herglic leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms over it's chest, quietly assessing the new hunter as he spoke. He seemed nervous. Good. Ghorua still has it. "Yep, you got the right man, hauum. A pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Mr. Nate." Ghorua smiled widely again, baring sharp teeth in a display of friendliness. A waiter came by, and filled up the colossus's drink with a clear, red-hued drink. With a thanks, Ghorua brought the drink to his lips, and sipped. A crisp, fruity sensation overcame his tongue, and he sighed deeply. "Please, take a seat, Phantoms."

Just then, Darlyn walked in. Ghorua trusted Darlyn immensely. Perhaps not with his life, not yet, anyways. "Oh, was this a party? I forgot the balloons, it seems." A slight chuckle. He grew silent as Excron introduced himself to Nate, and Nate returned the offer with hostility. In the Hunt, everyone has to be on the same page. And sometimes, getting to that page required a bit of rough play. Ghorua would let them sort out their differences. No use playing mom on a Hunt.

The Shark glanced at the door expectantly. He was waiting on two people now; [member="Valashu Elahad"] and his slicer, [member="Marcus Lok"]. They would be in for quite the treat when they arrived.

Marcus adjusted his jacket as the turbo lift descended towards the lower levels of Nar Shaddaa. He was late, but not by his own fault. No, that blame could be placed on the officer who thought that any sort of law on the city world still remained. It had been a mainly uneventful affair, the officer laid down some accusations that were easily dismissed and then he was brought into the station. Nar Shaddaa, despite being a haven for scum and criminals, still had a general police force. The reliability of this force... Well that was another matter entirely. He might well have been in a cell for a few nights if he had not had a few hundred credit chits on him... It was chump's change that those bucket-heads worked for.

He was here for a job, and he hardly had a want to be late for the meeting. It was simply bad form! However, the information that he had in his old flight bag would make up for it. The datapad was chock full of information about a certain man that Ghorua had contacted him about, some type of Jedi from what he could tell. From what else the documents had read, this guy was no pushover, which lead one to question what made the bounty so worth it. Perhaps the Herglic was just getting over-confident...

Soon, it was in sight. The glowing neon sign that read out so familiarly: Frida's.

It was coupled with a smattering of other signs that were quite usual for this kind of place, but it was no regular sidewalk joint. This spot had probably seen more deals made over a table this side of the Outer Rim, and a particularly profitable one was to be made tonight. Upon entering, he looked towards the bar where a temp-worker scrubbed away at some grime that resembled Ithorian vomit. What a place to work... With a subtle look of disgust, he moved towards the usual spot, a dimly lit table a bit out of the way of the rest of the crowd. It had a big lounge, which is probably why the fish had made it his claimed spot ever since Marcus had met him, and he still found it awkward to sit on the seat that was meant for much larger beings.

He saw the idle form of [member="Ghorua the Shark"] first, how could he not? He had changed of course. Much larger, some altered features... What had happened to him? Marcus often times wondered if his targets took one look at him and decided that it wouldn't be in there best interest to run, as he could outpace most without even trying. Besides him he took stock of the other men fairly quickly, probably hunters that he was bringing along, and stood at the entrance to the lounge.

"You look different, Fish... Haircut?"

[member="Ghorua the Shark"] [member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"] [member="Darlyn Excron"]

He took a seat across from Ghorua, his eyes wandering, searching the faces of the fellow hunters next to him, and then the bystanders in the bar as well. He shrugged his shoulder, and grunted, that Damon vibro-sword was running, and he didn't have any power cores on his person. With another soft grunt. He pulled the sword off his shoulder, and set it down on the table, pulling out the power core after he shut it off. The looks he received were textbook, all slightly weary, and he returned anthem with a glare, his eyes saying "if you give that stare again, I'm gonna come over their, and things are gonna get ugly."

The past few moths were it the best.. and he was now constantly in a pretty bad mood, and rarely smiled but alas, their was no time for games when on the job.

"Last one still on his way? And taking his jolly damn time at it too,"

[member="Marcus Lok"], [member="Ghorua the Shark"], [member="Darlyn Excron"]

Ghorua's smile seemed to widen even farther as [member="Marcus Lok"] entered the establishment. The slicer seemed to have picked up on Ghorua's genetic enhancements. "Yeah, I got a few upgrades, friend. I hope you got was I asked you for, Mando." Ghorua the Shark brought his hands together, each one easily as large as a reglular being's head.

Ghorua then looked to [member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"], an amused expression on his round face. "Cool your jets, Mr. Phantoms. We have all the time in the world. Although it would be nice if Mr. Elahad could've arrived a bit sooner. Whatever, we'll get him caught up if he arrives."

With a bit of flair, the Herglic reached down into his bandolier, and pulled out a holopad, sized for his large fingers. Ghorua pressed a few buttons on the device, and flicked it out onto the center of the table. From the screen, a small hologram emitted, a rotating head. Angular face, swooping hair, a face of justice in the galaxy.

"This is our target, boys. The name's Connor Harrison; Jedi master of the Silver Sanctum. You're looking at one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy. He's got a sizeable bounty on his head. 950,000cr. Not a bad haul, even split among four people." Ghorua absentmindedly turned his gaze to an empty chair. "Or, three, as it would seem. The fee for my slicer here will be subtracted from the total, leaving us all happy."

Ghorua then looked to [member="Darlyn Excron"] for the next part. "The trick is that he's wanted alive. So no disintegrations, please. Mr. Lok, I assume you have some info for us?"

The gigantic Herglic crossed his arms over his muscled chest, grinning. He felt in-control. Powerful, but not in the way he was used to being powerful. He was happy to have the chance to flex his mind instead of his muscles for a change.

Valashu yawned, dropping his Force Cloak, while stretching and stepping from the wall he had leaned against. He had stayed quiet, even letting them all believe he wasn't there, but he had been, and had heard everything. Hood drawn, mask on, bow at his hip, quiver on the other; Valashu was ready to do what was needed to succeed. So he felt no reason to say anything.

But when the shark man finally was finished and ready, Val took it as a sign to appear, "Let's get this show rolling." He said simply, then from inside a bag that was slung around his shoulder a voice emanated, though it was muffled.

"Hush Max."

(Sorry. Forgot all about this.)

At the mention of the information, Marcus nodded and took his own seat. It had been tricky work to procure the information about the Jedi, and one that had not been completely devoid of incident. On more than one occasion some security software that must have been attached to their archives had attempted to leech its way back along his signal. It was a type of security that he had seen before, but only on the computers of the One Sith and in the service of some more wealthy businesses. Those details, however, would prove unimportant to the group that presently set their eyes to gaze upon the hologram.

As he brought forth his own datapad and began to type through the stores of information that he had available, which were quite minimal, he wondered whether Ghorua knew these men or if they were one time acquaintances. The first time he had met him, he had been the second to a seemingly more confident hunter, though he had certainly come to overshadow whatever vagabond that was. In the end, he figured that these men might be quite new to the business themselves, and there should be no shortage of companions in an effort to capture a Jedi...
With that in mind, he plugged his datapad into the holo-emitter and produced an image of a planet.

"This is Ruusan, a temperate world in the Mid Rim. It was also the sight of a recent invasion by the forces of the Silver Sanctum including your Jedi. From what I have been to dig up, he should be somewhere around the Valley of the Jedi, here."

Marcus quickly moved his hand to the datapad and almost instantaneously a small red blip would appear upon the location of the famed Jedi landmark.

"That is your best bet to find him, probably some sort of military instillation. Which also means it will be swarming with Sanctum personnel."

With that, Marcus nodded and looked to Ghorua for some hint of approval of his work. He would stick around to hear their plan of course... Or at least until he had polished off a drink.

Ghorua sat quietly as Marcus relayed the info he had. Silently, he tapped his index fingers together, thinking hard. "Hmm... A battlefield is rarely a good place to snag someone up. Too many variables, and too many of the target's friends around. Keep your feelers out, maybe we can catch him somewhere else. But if it comes to it, there are worse places to battle than a warzone." Then, with a sincere nod, "Thank you, Lok. That couldn't have been easy to dig up."

Ghorua turned to the rest of the group, gauging their reactions. He had a brief flashback to his first hunt, with Julian Valentine as his mentor. It appeared he was the senior hunter this time. Whether these men got payed or not was mostly up to him, and his plan.

"Well, now that you all know who we're gunning for, are you still interested?" Ghorua sat up in his seat, towering over his company, even taller than Valashu, who was standing. He looked confidant in his power, but internally, he was battling with himself. Could they pull it off? Only time would tell.

"Valley of the Jedi... that means there's probably tombs there right? Should be careful around there then, if it's at all like the Valley of the Sith, those things should be rich in force energy. Then again, it might help, considering the company we keep.." He mused aloud, though not towards anyone in particular. Then with a nod, he rummaged in his pocket, and spun a long, thin needle from a syringe between his fingers. Mementos had always seemed pointless to him, but he sort of understood it now. Besides, this one was useful.

"Never did like Jedi. Consider me in Sharkboy."

Val silently waited for the group to get moving. He had voiced the opinion that it was show time, as well in doing so boasting the confidence they could complete the mission. Turning his vision upward and away from the group, he kept arms folded, all the while showing fully that he didn't feel concern at what was to come.

He had met Connor, and fully believed the man a dangerous adversary. Yet it was not impossible to take down one that was powerful. He, combined with the giant he had assist him long ago, would be enough - he was sure. With the addition of more? It would be hard pressed to not accomplish their goals.

Ghorua saw the nods of affirmation from all of them, and smiled. He had a team. Ghorua had grown tired of sitting around. The beast blood in him was boiling, clamoring to be on the Hunt. Ghorua, like most of the others, figured that this job could be done with less people, but the genetically-modified monster was the cautious type. He didn't want to let this bounty slip away from him. He had too much riding on it.

The Shark thought back to simpler times. His first mentor, his first hunt, the raid for phrik, where he briefly dueled a self-proclaimed demigod... On second though, perhaps there were no simple times. The galaxy was in Chaos, after all.

Ghorua picked his holopad up off of the table, switched it off, and stuck it back to his bandolier. He didn't want to attract stares from the rest of the cantina. He was a frequent here, and many of the patrons knew to mind their own business when it came to the Shark, but some were oblivious to who he was. Deep black eyes looked to each of the hunters, giving them a silent thanks.

He figured it was about time to get down to business. "Good, good. Let's get a round, and let's get going!" The Herglic laughed deeply, honestly enjoying himself in the presence of like-minded people. Ghorua called a bartender over, and enjoyed a glass of water.

The Hunt was on.
