BIOGRAPHY:
Selena Halcyon is born and raised Jedi. Her master was a classical practitioner of the Force and the ways of the Jedi. Growing up in the Temple on Tython was a simple thing really. She lived in peace and practiced being in peace. Early on though it was found out that she had no gift for the telekinetic abilities that most users of the Force find easily grasped. It was not even that it was a difficult task for her, but an impossible thing for her to achieve. While not a common affliction, it is one nonetheless that does happen. Finding a master was something of a difficulty given that most viewed her as a failure because she could not do some of the things that many viewed as exceptionally basic. As a youngling she was treated poorly by the others, who took her inability to use telekinesis as something that made them superior. Instead of becoming angered who frustrated by this though, she found solace in the Jedi code and came to an extreme state of peace.

It was likely this peace that attracted her master to her. Though, it could have been how she threw herself at learning lightsaber techniques and mastering combat. Or that she had developed a strong sense of justice. She never really found out as her master was something of an enigma. A quiet force of justice in the galaxy. He drifted from planet to planet dealing with crime that was becoming prevalent in the four hundred years of darkness. When he picked her up, she joined him on this quest. She learned less from strict training and more from her continued experience in the field. This was a long process of her being mostly away from the Jedi Order and disconnected from the rebuilding order. Almost ten years after her becoming a padawan was when she would become a Jedi Knight.

A lot of the information surrounding it is a mystery. The public story, and the only common information about it, is that on a mission to the edge of Sith space there was a struggle. In the end, a threat was stopped but it was at the cost of the master's life. When she came back, she was promoted to the rank of Knight. Many in the order did not even know her, but those that had known her in her young days knew that she had changed. She was no merely at peace, but she was not exceedingly distant and refused to get close to anyone. She seldom remained on Tython though, preferring to continue the work she had started when she had become a padawan. Often Selena is out on the field, bringing in criminals, busting drug rings, preventing weapon sales and smuggling. She tended to stay away from conflicts with the Sith, but since the death of Teferi she has launched herself headlong into the war with the Empire.

-Clockwork Rebellion-
However, before she could throw herself into that battle, the droid known as Omni revealed himself once more to the galaxy in the Clockwork Rebellion. Likely the droid once again became a threat to the galaxy because of the death of Teferi, the one who had brought him down a few hundred years prior. At the moment of his return, Selena was on Coruscant in the under levels. Her life still occupied with dealing with the gangs that trolled the barely policed levels. What had been meant to be a normal day of spying and bringing in criminals quickly turned into a fight for her life. Being on such a low floor on Coruscant made it a wonder she even got off the planet. It was a fight filled with attacks from all sides as Omni's Seraphim droids assaulted her. However, she did manage to escape the planet. Heavily injured and exhausted she joined the other Jedi on Tython where they regrouped and assessed the situation, which evidently spanned not only Republic space but Imperial Sith space as well.

While the summit to assess what to do after the outbreak was spreading across the galaxy was being held on Kuat, Selena was recovering in a bacta tank so that she could also lend her aid to putting down this threat. When she came out of the tank she awoke to the horror of knowing that Kuat had been also attacked by the droid threat, which evidently also had a fleet element behind its power as well. From the summit though, a sort of cease fire had come about with the Sith. As a result of this a joint mission was sent to the planet of Lehon to look for any record that could help in the battle against Omni. Nothing truly came about from this mission though since the droid known as Omni had been created well after the Infinite Empire had fallen. She did not let the mission get to her though, from it she had gained some insight into the character of three Sith but that information was filed away.

Soon after returning from this mission she was tasked to go survey the situation on Alderaan. As history stated, one of Omni's bases existed on Alderaan because of its role in the reconstruction of the planet. What she found upon landing on the planet was one still in the throws of war with the machines. While not a primary aspect of her missions, she did lend aid to the battle there. It was an odd one though. The resistance was lead by a Dark Jedi named Darren Shaw, and was being aided strangely enough by a Sith. Once again though, her hands were tied when it came to dealing with the potential threat of the Sith because of the agreement on Kuat. She actually provided aid to the man in a battle with a special clockwork droids called Despair, one of the trio of S.I.B.L.I.N.G.S. Once again though, she found little on the planet. Omni was thorough in removing records of his existence and any hints on how to destroy him.

After Alderaan was won back from the droids, Selena returned once more to Tython. Her return was timely, a large assault was just about to go under way to liberate Coruscant. The planet was being razed by a number of World Devastators. There she served in the battle around one of the world devastators in sector 8 of Coruscant. Though she only played a minor role in the liberation of Coruscant, she was present for the desctruction of one World Devastator.

-The Rebellion Ends-

Not long after the resolution of the Clockwork Rebellion did some changes happen. During the rebuilding process the Republic also looked outward at the galaxy around them. Coming out of the outer rim they could see the coming Sith Empire. War was on the horizon and many planets still recovering from the 400 Years of Darkness were in need of protection. As such a phase of expansion was before them. In this time period Selena was put to task in the putting down of a pirate threat on Manaan. The effort was a surprisingly large military effort, yet saw its initial phase primarily in the hands of the Selkath. During this phase, Selena was present on a water skiff moving towards a pirate base built into an ancient Acclimator-class star destroyer. This was a disaster though, they ran into a dense minefield with enemy skiffs and airspeeders barreling down on them. This offensive was called into retreat because of its failures, and from there Selena rode a Republic gunship to the pirate. There she fought in the guts of the ships, disabling pirates when able to and hunting down the engine room so as to take control of the base's ability to exist.

Just before the battle of Manaan she had been elevated to an unexpected position, the leader of the Jedi Shadows. As one who preferred to somewhat be on the edge of official business and preferred being a sword over a leader, this was alarming to her. She accepted it though. The small order of the Shadows had largely been individually ran and had little oversight except for when the Council dictated it. This move gave the order a more official status and greater ability to act. Not long after Manaan though there was a strange move in the Republic. It was is if using the Jedi as powerful allies was not enough, they wanted them as tools instead. A Senator Sammeal made a move to have a bill put in place that would give all the Jedi's information on its own present and former members over to the Republic as a 'security' matter. The bill created a lot of discussion, but it also put eyes on the mysterious senator. In an effort to protect the Jedi Order, though she did not mind the heart of the bill, she made it her duty to look into the figure known as Sammeal.

What she found in her investigation was that he was a murderer and a thug, using his power to gain more. Upon finding this out at the murder of the senator from Eclipse, she made her move to arrest the senator. Contacting security details and the Jedi council, a large group, including Ben Watts, gathered to confront the senator at his home in Republica 500. On their way to the senator's home they all became painfully aware of the fact that this was not just a murderer, but a Sith in disguise. When they arrived they found the near corpse of the real Senator Sammeal and the one who had been pretending to be him. As it would turn out, the Sith was Darth Moridin the killer of the former Grandmaster Teferi and previous Emperor of the Sith. Despite great effort the two were unable to apprehend Darth Moridin who escaped after a brutal battle.

It is around this time that Selena Halcyon began to take her lead as the Shadows a bit more seriously. As a Jedi she was always a bit more independently minded, and liked to stay away from crowds. She followed orders, but was not one to take leads unless asked. Becoming the head of the Jedi Shadows was, to say simply, a bit more than she expected. But she saw it as a chance for her to organize them. Previously they were a loose batch of Jedi Knights who had common interests in the removal of darkside artifacts. Now they were becoming organized in order to facilitate this on a greater level, and as Selena saw it to take on targets that would be harder to remove as individuals. One such object was the Oubliette of Darth Glovoc. For this she assembled a large team of Jedi and a few rogues she was hoping to bring into the Order as well as watch them at work. [to be completed]

Around this time was when the council deemed that she should take up a padawan again. Selena actually had a bad track record with Padawans, typically because of the fact that she threw them right into missions. As such they seldom survived for long. She did not try and get them killed it was just that they were not ready for what she brought them on. For instance, her previous padawan had been doing well in her missions in the Coruscant underworld until a swoop chase resulted in him unexpectedly colliding with a bus. This padawan, Nikolai Siviyr, luckily already had a decent grasp on the force so his abilities did not need as much training. She went over the basics of combat with him and that was really it. Then they were off doing missions, and likely because of his previous Force knowledge was why he saw himself hastily promoted to Jedi Knight.

Not long after being freed of the constraints of training a padawan, Selena saw herself in two conflicts in quick succession. The first was on Glee Anselm, the watery home of the Nautolans. A handful of Jedi, many of whom Shadows, were present on the planet for a time investigating a disturbance in the Force. The planet had become riddled with Force creations that inhabited the vines and saw the slaughter of many villages. Storms assaulted the planet as well threatening to throw it out of balance. It was easily deduced that the threat behind all of this was a Sith Lord. After barely surviving a battle in the swamps the group collected themselves and requested aid. As aid slowly trickled in the group then ran headlong to fight the Sith. In the midst of the storm, Selena found herself detached from the group battling the Sith's minions alone. Then she found herself involved in the bloody affair on Contruum. The previous regime had ruled with a tyrannical fist and used mercenaries to keep the people down, but they rose up to attack their oppressors with the aid of the Republic. Selena found herself in an awkward situation on the planet because of the brutality of the natives displayed on their former oppressors. [More to come]

-Republic-Imperial War Begins-

Flashpoint: Roche. Here is where the war between the Empire and the Republic began. It did not take a tactical genius to see that the war between the Republic and the Empire was coming, and that it would occur somewhere along the Perlemian Trade Route. With the Empire expanding down and around it, and the Republic taking more of a footing there with Contruum, naturally the two sides were set on a collision course at Roche. The asteroid field home of the Verpine's housed a number of important things to both sides. Designs for a new starfighter, a powerful generator, and many other things. The battle was fierce and Selena was present for it. Initially she was at G-66 where the Republic forces were rallied, but quickly she lead a team of operatives in StealthX's to the Roche Research Hive where the Empire was set up. Her insurgents got into the hanger of the base about the same time that Iron Maiden's team landed on the asteroid as well. The battle in the hanger was a fierce one, but only one in the multi-faceted battle that ultimately lead to the control of Roche going to the Republic and the defeat of the Empire in the first battle of the war.

After Roche Selena heard word of an artifact on Kashyyyk and Trandosha that was allowing the Trandoshans to come under the political control of a Sith. In transit though she was captured by a group of hunters. She was then put into a game of sorts where she and other force users had to attempt to escape from the hunters who were a mix of races and even included some Mandalorians. She ran into the young Jedi Padawan Subject 13, a case which leaves her uncomfortable about his role in the Jedi Order. The two managed to escape largely because the Mandalorians realized the danger of hunting Jedi when the alliance between the Republic and Mandalorians was essential for the safety of Mandalorian space from the Sith Empire. A fact that was made all the more clear when the Sith invaded Mandalore and were pushed back by a coallition of Republic and Omega Pyre forces.

Selena largely faded into the background during this conflict. She resolved to move fully into her duties as a Shadow and stay at the edge of the war. It was more important for her to do the difficult missions which required smaller numbers of people to be involved in them. In this realm she was successful.

The war fell into a bit of a stalemate though and even her actions in the shadows began to decrease. It was then that she was tasked with a strange mission to the planet of Donanyd. It was her mission to recover a particular scientist and convince the planet to not succumb to the desires of the Sith Empire. The mission was a disaster but there was little that she could do in the moment. No, while on the planet's moon trying to find the scientist, the Sith Lord Apparatus launched a weapon of mass destruction at the planet. In a matter of moments the planet was destroyed and the moon would quickly follow. She barely managed to escape with a handful people. The moment scared the stoic woman though. All the death in just a moment was beyond startling and something which no being powerful in the Force should be capable of taking well.

Banishment and Ascension

It took her some time to recover but it was not before long that she found herself on the planet Contruum. She had been a part of mission that sought to liberate the planet years before but it had failed. Her mission was to see an auction of stolen Sith artifacts brought back under the control of the Jedi where they would not cause any more harm to the galaxy. The event turned into an intergalactic fiasco. The Republic, filled with political strife and discord, moved ineptly. Instead of standing behind her when she acted for them they decided to shame her. The most surprising even to follow was the Jedi responded in the same kind. They banished her from the order. The entire situation confused her. Artifacts were lost and in the galaxy and the Jedi were punishing her for doing as she was supposed to.

Her exile was short lived though. As it would turn out the mindset of the Order was more in line with her own. In a shocking turn of events the exile was not only placed back into the order but risen to the most important position of them all, Grand Master. From this position Selena was empowered. A young core of Knights and Masters stood beside her. The senate in the Republic also began to turn as well when a new Chancellor was put in power. This formed the core of the immediate future actions of the Republic, which no longer desired to stand patiently while the Sith Empire grew and oppressed more.

Before the war to end the Empire would start it was important to establish their borders. As such they sent diplomats to the bordering planets. The Omega Protectorate and Mandalorian, long allies of the Republic, agreed to remain strong in their alliance and pacts. The Black Sun Syndicate posed an interesting threat. Occupying old Hutt Space it was Selena's desire to see it liberated, but the Republic was practical and wanted to acknowledge their status as a government for the time being. However, the Syndicate's lack of diplomatic intelligence was shown when they attacked and attempted to kill the two Jedi diplomats sent to assure no violence would be brought to them in the upcoming war. This started what could only be viewed as the first act in the war to come.

Nar Shaddaa was invaded with the largest armada the Republic had ever gathered. It was a crippling blow to the Black Sun Syndicate which was forced to leave the criminal moon by force. Selena ultimately permitted the members of the Syndicate to leave peacefully with a deadline, but locked down the moon afterwards. With a stranglehold on Syndicate space established their threat to the Republic was neutralized.

Quickly the Republic struck at the Empire. The powerful armies and fleets of the Republic struck deep into Sith space. In an effort to try and stem the tide the Empire launched an attack on Manaan. However, the Republic was focused. Selena was waiting there with a second contingent of the Republic military. They had been intended to protect from any kind of Black Sun retaliation but it worked out perfectly. It was an ugly conflict but Selena turned them back while at the same time the Republic pushed towards the twin capitals of the Empire, Dromund Kaas and Korriban. The Mandalorians quickly jumped into the fray and also attacked the Empire, finally getting vengeance for all the deaths at the Empire's hand.

The Empire was not built to handle such a focused and strong opponent. The losses were crippling to their moral and planets began to rise up against them. More importantly, it crushed the spirit of their leadership. Infighting just made their demise all the quicker. And in a matter of no time the Republic stood over Korriban while the Mandalorians destroyed Dromund Kaas. With that the Empire was no more.

After the Empire had Fallen

In the after effects of the war an awkward period existed within the Republic. Soldiers returned home. Jedi went back to the temple. The senate become tiresome. The conflict that had hounded them since their foundation was seemingly over. The tension was gone, and yet celebration was hardly present. People suddenly started declaring the Republic as conquerors instead of liberators. It was an odd turn to say the least. Selena sensed that it was not the true heart beat of the people but that outsiders were manipulating the opinions.

Her eyes drifted to the Lords of the Fringe. Many Sith had decided to take haven there, and it was already a hardly trustworthy faction. The Atrisian Empire was also being emboldened by them while also tension mounted between them and the Protectorate. Selena saw conflict coming and, while she desired to just rest after the war, it was obvious to her that the war was not truly over. The Empire might have been gone but the darkside's allies were still ever present, and this time dangerously close to the core. The Supreme Chancellor shared her sentiments and with more enthusiasm.

A chain of battles arose which Selena served in. It was not her desire to get involved but it was the hand that she was dealt as Grand Master to lead from the front. Ultimately the Atrisian Empire was absorbed into the Fringe, which at face value seemed mutual but was hardly so. The final battle became a cluster absurdity. A segment of Jedi from the edge who had left the Order to start their own intervened in the conflict, aiding the Fringe against the Republic. They instead opted to help the servants of the darkside and insult their brothers they had abandoned. The conflict came to an end in a stalemate the Republic embrace peace for a time.

Selena found herself in an awkward position. The continued external propaganda labeled her as a conqueror and ambitious. It was not uncommon to see her treated as if she was in fact the one ruling the Republic, manipulating the Chancellor. All the rumors left the stoic Selena saddened. She had lived to serve and fought for the people and now they insulted her service at every corner. Worse yet a small but vocal faction began to spread the same lies in the Temple. Selena could hardly do anything to stymie the progress of the lies though. So she left to hunt a threat which she knew was still out there. The Sith would come back so she desired to see the damage prevented as much as possible.

In the process she was lost on a planet for a time, trapped in a conflict which kept her from leaving and limited her ability to speak with her council back on Coruscant. In her absence she was replaced by Joshua Dragonsflame. The young man had seemed to support the good of the war with the Empire but quickly turned into one of the oppositions faction. Selena was gone for all of this so nothing could really be done. Her status as lost in the Unknown Regions kept her away from the Republic when the One Sith came about.

Hiding

Selena returned to known galaxy to find the conflict all the greater than it had been before. The Republic was in tatters and constantly being crushed by the One Sith. It was her worst fear really. The Sith were united like they had not been before and as such were so much more powerful than she could imagine. Little was there for her to do. The Jedi and the Republic did not have the will to rally for anything and her ability to assert herself was lost. The opinion of others of her had tainted her desire to be around others publicly. She desired to serve the galaxy but could not will herself to do so under the name of Selena Halcyon or publicly anymore. The old Jedi Shadow side of her arose again. Embracing a cover identity she found herself undergoing treatments to make herself appear to be a Mirialan.

Now she fights for the people of the galaxy in a quieter way and under a different name.

While sad, @[member="Quietus"], it is actually making RPing Selena a lot more fun to RP here simply because she is basically a completely new character. Similar in personality, but the reasons are way different. And while it does kind of bum me out that they aren't related (kind of) anymore, I think the changes were worth it.

I think a years worth of events have happened thus far... decided to age her after some added story. Will have a bunch to add soon to end what I have right now and then expand on some other threads that are going to end soon.
