Character Ryv Karis, Just a Guy

“And of course, the Sword of the Jedi himself, Ryv Karis. You're not gonna find anyone more dedicated and reliable than him. You're just not. He might not be any Grandmaster but he might as well be running the whole New Jedi Order himself, I swear."

Physical Description:

Ryv has never shied away from the public eye. His smile is a familiar one to the Galactic Alliance, as is his hope-filled amber eyes. He's not the largest or strongest figure. Only standing just below six-feet tall, the Jedi Knight makes up for it with his loud personality.

He favors his leather jacket over traditional Jedi robes and is always seen with his trusty lightsaber, Resolve. The kiffar has forgone a clan tattoo denoting his kiffar heritage, choosing to pass off almost entirely as a near-human of some variant. He's covered from head to toe in scars, as well as numerous tattoo's on his torso, right arm, and left leg.

Family & Connections
Skills, Training, & the Force

Ryv trained beneath his father Vyrin in his youth, destined to eventually take the title of padawan beneath then-Jedi, now Lord Executor, Rurik Fel. Once the Core fell to the One Sith, Ryv fled to the Outer Rim. He spent years wandering the streets of Nar Shaddaa honing his investigative abilities as a debt collector for Agrippa the Hutt. After a job gone wrong and one failed suicide attempt later, Jedi Master Cedric Grayson brought Ryv back to Coruscant as an apprentice. A year of intensive rehabilitation underneath the Imperator's watchful gaze earned Ryv the title of Jedi Padawan once more. Under Cedric's tutelage, Ryv excelled in lightsaber training, taking quickly to defensive techniques over more aggressive styles. Fortunately for the kiffar, his master's skill in Form V, both Djem-So and Shien, proved perfect for the young man.

Over the years, Ryv has picked up other styles and force techniques, though none of his force abilities quite stack up to his innate knowledge of psychometry, or his prodigious understanding of empathy and the Jedi meld. Many know the Sword of the Jedi as one of the skilled, if not the best, lightsaber combatants the Jedi have to offer.
