The Healing Ring of Iasth-Abhai

Intent: A personal amulet crafted by Anders Sivas for [member="Mikhail Shorn"] for the sole purpose of acting as a last-ditch buffer between Mikhail and death. A ring imbued with the power to heal and sustain a physical body for a short, single burst in time of great need.

- Retreat, Retreat, Dear Goddess Have Thy Child Retreat (Anders goes to the Nihil Retreat to retrieve Smokestone, imbue the Corusca Gem with her healing power, sculpt the ring out of the Smokestone & inlay the gemstones)
- Anders' Life Day Birthday Bash (Mikhail Shorn gives the three Corusca Gems he won as Champion of the Cauldron to Andra for a Birthday present)
- Restless Wanderer, Always Lost (Months after the Tragedy at Lipsec, Mikhail uses the care and affection he feels for Andra to locate her drifting ship & rescue her from the past. This is evidenced by the growing Force Bond between the two & begins the shift in relationship which has made the ring's creation a possibility.
- Oh Dreamer, Daring Is Not Often Wise (After Jared Ovmar comes back from the 'dead', Andra goes to Mikhail for answers. He sees Andra with Jared's memories of her in his brain and feeds off of Andra before letting her go. This is evidence of the initial Force Drain, which Dark Siders have been known to use in forging Force Bonds.)

Trained as a sculptor and artist on her native Naboo, the High Councillor sculpted a ring from a single piece of Nihil Smokestone taken from a Rhandite Temple in the Perenn Nebula. Inlaid in the ring is a fragment of one of three Corusca Gems Mikhail Shorn gave Andra as a birthday present. The Corusca Gem and pale peach to white quartz have been imbued with a significant amount of Force Healing, which combined with the mentalist-enhancing Nihil Smokestone (acting as a channel to alert Anders to the use of the ring's healing crystals) will activate a single burst of localized healing energy to stabilize and sustain Mikhail Shorn's physical form when in dire circumstance. The healing properties of the ring are sufficient enough to sustain Mikhail's life in a single burst, which can repair enough significant damage to help give Mikhail a fighting chance out of a potentially lethal situation. Once the ring has been activated, it must be recharged by either time or Anders' meditations. Due to the nature of the object (and use of the Smokestone), any activation of the Iasth-Abhai can be intrinsically felt by Anders Sivas and the location where the ring was activated flashes into her mind.
This function has been built into the ring on the off chance that Mikhail opens his big mouth too wide and needs his pert backside pulled from a maelstrom too big for his own powers to rescue him. So in other words, every second Tuesday it might come in handy.
As to the amount of healing energy built into the ring: The Iasth-Abhai is meant to restore Mikhail's physical body to a place of relative health. It can heal broken bones and repair damaged organs. It can restore him to near-perfect health as long as his body is in one piece. It cannot re-energize him. It does nothing for one's stamina aside from the bolstering effects of healing away a person's pain, and injury. The Iasth-Abhai is meant to be a vehicle in which Mikhail can survive and run, not a tool to be tripped up on to extend a prolonged fight.
Strengths:
- Force Imbuement: Andra Sivas is a known healer, having taken training in the Light Side of the Force from [member="Coryth Elaris"] and [member="Ilias Nytrau"]. The Iasth-Abhai carries within it a charge of healing energy meant to sustain the life of the wearer in one single burst of healing power. This single burst of healing power is activated by severe biological trauma and injury. Mikhail must still be alive for the healing to take effect. The Iasth-Abhai does not raise the dead, for that would be freaky and way OP.
- Light-Side Object: The Iasth-Abhai, being crafted by a Light Sided Force User, has the faint whiff of the Light Side of the Force and can be sensed as such by Force Users around Mikhail.
- Force Bond: The Iasth-Abhai is a physical representation of the expanding and growing Force Bond between Mikhail & Anders, making the ring an intrinsically unique item.
- Activation Locator: The Ring was imbued in such a way as to act as a signal in the case of activation. The signal only works to alert Anders to the use of the ring and the location where the ring was used. All due travel time must still be taken for Anders to reach the bearer of the ring. Should Mikhail say, move away from the area where he activated the ring, the activation beacon would only bring Anders to the place the ring was used and not where it moved to.
- Luxurious Beauty: The ring itself is a display of Anders' abilities as a sculptor and artist. It is beautifully done, hearty and well polished. The Corusca Gem mounted within it is an expensive stone, thus making this a luxurious trinket of affection.
- Brittle: Although the Corusca Gem is known for its' ability to cut through nearly any substance, the ring is made from stone. It can crack and break. It has no level of powered enhancement on its' durability.
- One Shot: The ring has contained within it the power to heal one serious, life-threatening injury before it needs to recharge. Recharging of the ring takes between five and six hours depending on the nature of the injury it expended itself healing. The only method of quick-charging the ring is by giving it back to Anders Sivas for an uninterrupted one hour session of meditation. This meditation must be done in a location where Anders can function in uninterrupted safety, or the ring's recharge will happen within its natural five to six hour span.
- Bloodline: Only those with Mikhail or Anders' bloodline can make use of the ring. Should the bearer be anyone but Mikhail or Anders (or any unforeseen or otherwise unfortunately born progeny), the ring would simply be a beautifully crafted, expensive trinket with no mystical properties except its' small wafting presence in the Light Side of the Force. This weakness exists because of the unique and affectionate bond between Mikhail and Anders forged over months of events. Anders built the ring specifically for Mikhail using an imprint of his physiology to 'prime' it, both as a sacred promise to do her best as his lover and as a method of preventing the ring to fall into the wrong hands. A unique and personal gift, the Iasth-Abhai is meant for no other purpose but to be a spiritually bonded token of healing and affection. Should the affection underlying the Iasth-Abhai be torn asunder, the ring would cease to function as a healing amulet and revert to a mere piece of exquisitely crafted, expensive jewelry.
- Lost Limbs: Although the healing energy inside the ring can save a life and heal serious levels of life-threatening trauma, it cannot reattach or grow back limbs or extremities. In the event of a combat amputation, the ring would be able to stabilize the body up to the stump but no more. Medical attention would still be required.
- Physical Contact: The ring must be in physical contact with Mikhail's living body to function. Should the ring say, hypothetically get cut off Mikhail, it cannot function from a distance of any kind.
- The Force Must Flow: The ring cannot activate in a Force Nullification Field.
