Description: Rekali Silver comes from small, rare asteroids in the Hard Roil and a few other virtually impassable nebular regions. Once captured and refined with proprietary Clan Rekali processes, Rekali Silver becomes a malleable, pale, light metal, comparable to aluminum. It has similar industrial uses...except that it is significantly more expensive and time-consuming to create, making it a totally unsuitable choice for manufacturing. Rekali Silver is little more than a curio, except for one quality: for unknown reasons, it cannot be created by molecular replicator technology (e.g. ARGH Replicator, World Devastator-style molecular furnaces, Sasori Joshu, or potential derivatives of the ICE SFRC). Rekali Silver thus becomes a totally unique trade good, suitable for barter in various markets. The Rekalis are known to stamp it into bars and coins of uniform size so they won't have to calculate value by weight with every trade. The bars and coins feature a stylized letter 'resh' on one side and a simplified mythosaur skull insignia on the other. Various easily-arranged chemical tests can establish the nature and purity of Rekali Silver, largely preventing adulteration or counterfeiting.
