  • The twin reactors bulge out the ventral side of the ship making obvious targets of attack.
DESCRIPTION
An amalgamation of previous Black Sun warships, the Reason takes influences from a variety of ships. The dual reactors of the Nimix Cruiser, hull design and weapons placement from the Phoenix Destroyer, and the Turadium reinforcement of the Panther Combat Carrier. Even the Black Hex ship captured by Domino was cannibalized beyond repair to upgrade the Reason's engines and power distribution systems making it a formidable warship. Using it as a platform for developing an adegan cloaking field, the project utilized the best scientists of the CIS, Republic, and Black Sun while drawing material from all three nations. The final installation of the device in the uncompleted hull was the culmination of a long-time dream of Domino's, the resurrection of a lost technology. The device along with it's other stealth countermeasures would also ensure the long-term survivability of the ship, allowing it to hide and attack anywhere nearly at will.

The Reason's hull is durasteel over a close-knit turadium framework for increased strength and resistance to buckling; while critical systems such as the reactors, command bridge, cloaking generator, hyperdrive, and engineering have an internal sheath of turadium armor for additional protection. Another feature carried over from the Panther, and Mon Calamari ship designs, was it's layered shielding and multiple projectors which allowed several sections' of shielding to cover another that had failed until a back-up was able to be brought online. The enormous power required by the shields while under continuous fire was distributed from the hypermatter reactors by a power relay system taken (and expanded upon) from the Black Hex ship captured over Degobah. The Hex's engines were also torn apart and recreated for the ship, much larger if slightly less efficient than the originals. The loss of these systems along with hundreds of other systems removed for study eventually rendered the Hex gutted and beyond repair, leaving it only suitable for short term habitation and study.

Every ounce of remaining power was dedicated to arming the massive warship, so much so that when under 'full press' the lights in the corridors dim. Intended to combat ships of all sizes, the Reason's arsenal is extremely diverse and carefully placed. With irregular weapon lines, mixed groupings, and excellent firing arcs, there is no 'safe' direction to hover off of and fire into the Reason like there is off the stern of the classical star destroyer line; and in a special effort to combat fast to mid-sized ships, the Reason mounts two-hundred light quad turbolasers similar to those used by the Trade Federation during the Clone Wars. With the special exception that they're mounted on fast-acting quick mounts to significantly improve their tracking. The rest of the armament would be rather standard if the mixture of the Black Hex systems and spun tibanna gas used in the ships weapons didn't create a blue bolt instead of the usual red or green.

The Reason now flies for Outer Rim Resources after a refit bringing it up to the galactic modern standard for ships of its size class. It's also had the interior gap in the hull fitted with docking clamps to fit and carry Domino's ship the Sangromancer II.

  • Added new closing line
  • Removed part of low-power explanation
  • Changed hanger ships and squad counts to reflect

  • Changed thrust trace dampener to engine baffles
  • Added anti-ion emission tracker
  • Changed standard shields to back-up shields
Can I also ask the judge reviewing to alter the tags from what they are now to 'Domino' 'Reason' Despite it being my thread I cannot.

Can you expand on the weakness? Or provide something more actionable? As it stands there's not an actionable weakness (something that can be used to counter) for this submission.
