---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
(+) Rave has a deep understanding of how the Force relates to the underlying principles of the physical world. She spent her youth and early Mastery as a prolific and ambitious alchemist. She is talented in metallurgy, crystallography, genetic engineering, and the laws of physics.
(+) Courtesy of Master Sirella Valkner, Rave has been immune to pheromones since youth.
(-) Rave is of a certain age. She has many old injuries, and her right arm and left leg are prostheses.
(-) Though quick, Rave is not a person of imposing physical stature.
(-) Rave has been legally dead for years, and the Rave Merrill last seen by the galaxy at large was a much younger and more amoral woman. Complications can result.
(-) When Rave vanished several years ago, leaving behind a complex will, she made enemies out of friends, and there's always a new challenger ready to take on the mysteriously aged alchemist.
(-) Rave has, for the first time in her life, turned to the Light Side of the Force. Her first instincts can still be those of a Nightsister and a Sith Master, her habits require curbing, and her curiosity is too easily piqued by the macabre. To maintain her current course, she feels she must watch herself constantly, and the traits that once kept her alive are not always appropriate to the Lightsider she wants to be.
(-) Rave has a good deal on her conscience.

APPEARANCE:
Rave is wiry, delicate like a knifetip, slow to start moving but quick to finish. She has a burden on her shoulders.

BIOGRAPHY:
Alchemist, innovator, High Councilor of the Fringe, timewalker, titan of industry -- Rave Merrill has been too many things. She has trapped souls in torment and bombarded entire worlds with ion fire. She has uplifted species to sentience and driven others to the brink of genocide. She has killed so many people, deliberately or recklessly, that the numbers no longer have meaning. She has summoned eldritch horrors the size of light cruisers, then turned their skins into leather coats worth two and a half million credits apiece. She is a creator and inventor at heart, but now the weight of years has shown her just what legacy she left behind. She did everything a sensible Sith Lord could hope to do, and at the end of it she decided it was time to wipe away the mandala and try something new.

She would try, in a serious way, to be more than she was. She would try, despite her whole bloody past, to be good.

She did not arrive at this conclusion alone, though introspection had its place. One of her few contacts from her old life, the Sithspawn-hunter [member="Seydon of Arda"], was a major influence. But when it came to choosing a path, Seydon -- a perennial loner, curse-bound to the Dark Side of the Force -- could offer few options. The Jedi held no interest for Rave, both because of their limited crafting tradition and because claiming the title 'Jedi' carried an implication of moral superiority that would never fit her. Having singlehandedly built one of the galaxy's largest corporations and then stepped away from it entirely, she saw wealth and capital as tools, but not essential ones -- an emphatic denial of a poverty vow. Nevertheless, she decided to follow the Light Side of the Force as closely as she could manage.

Rather than impose her sins and consequences on the family she'd abandoned -- especially Jorus, who'd once adopted her as his little sister, but was now a good deal younger than her -- she kept her distance at first. How do you apologize for removing yourself from someone's life, even for the best of reasons? How do you go back to a galaxy you abandoned a lifetime ago, even if it's barely moved on at all? How do you better your soul when you don't deserve a speck of redemption, and when you'll never live down what you were?

SHIP:
Pending.

KILLS:
Zaiden James-Greyson/Kasamann, Dark Jedi Master

Yeah. That was a fun battle.

Like that she's light sided now. Any actual goals with her? Maybe trying lightside creations?

Oh, you said ALMOST kill. Sorry. Well, feel free to tell your wife that even if I'm alive, from my temporal perspective it's been decades. I don't hold the grudges I held when I was a girl.

I think not, Mr. Munin. The vast majority of alchemy isn't something I can condone anymore. Which doesn't mean that I won't find avenues for invention, of course - but I was prolific as a girl, and I am no longer a girl.

Trust me, my dear. 'Creepy' is a word that's all too often used - improperly used - to describe a natural process of inquisitive engagement being constrained by social mores. Which are, by and large, bunk. Feel free to pick my brain at your convenience, though be prepared to find things you don't like.
