SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Quiet Flying
Strengths:
  • Quiet Flying -- The propulsion jets that the RAT droid is outfitted with were designed to run as quietly as possible. That said, the drone still leaves enough of a sound behind for others to hear it if they truly listen for it. Think long hissing exhale whistling through an oscillating voice modulator.
  • Lifeform Scanner -- The RAT comes with a Lifeform Scanner that it uses to detect what it is that it needs to record for its owner.

Weaknesses:
  • EMP -- As much of a danger to this droid as any other.
  • Unstable Hoverpads -- The hovering pads that rotate below the holorecorder's base is the mechanism that handles the RAT's propulsion. It is a weak spot, and if they are thrown into a case of severe imbalance or if they are outright damaged the drone will lose control and plummet towards the ground followed by said unit's inevitable death and destruction.
  • Bare Bones -- The drone is only made for recording video and audio. It was not built to handle any kind of purposeful damage made to its chassis or propulsion jets.

DESCRIPTION

The RAT Droid was a recording device and/or robot that was released by a company which at the time of its creation was known as 'Andromeda Electronics' in an effort to further their own brand an expand. They had already made a droid quite similar in design to the RAT, but with technological advancements and increased experience in the field they had decided that while the 'ICU-BR0' was a good tool for a hobbyist there was a need to branch into a more professional field. The answer to that idea was the RAT, or 'Remote Activity Transcriber' which would be a product aimed more at professionals in the field of journalism, lawyerisms, politics as well as other areas where one might need to transcribe anything and everything that an individual might be doing or saying.

As such the RAT was outfitted with a lifeform scanner to detect where people were in the unit's immediate vicinity and provide a good shot of them with the holorecorder. The Holorecorder is of standard galactic issue with an image quality that might stand above the average recorder by a smidgen, but hardly not anything that is worth noting in the end.

All in all, it was a straightforward droid that was meant for jobs that were anything but.
