Raid on Merson Supply Station [Republic/Pirate]

"We shall gorge on their fatty flesh... and be satisfied by their bones"

The last few gunships and corvettes patrolling the space around the Merson station, "Forge's Eye", hyperspaced back to their rendezvous point deep into Republic space. The main planet, Merson, floated like a serene backdrop to the station. Painting the black space with an orb of wisps of brown and green. The deserts and forests were speckled by white clouds. The Merson system was once known for its own race of pirates back in the days of the Clone Wars. These pirates were once feared in their own rights and took their fight to the republic of old. The current Merson though was far removed from its history. The once feared "pirates" were either all gone or integrated into the remnants of what, is now considered, the Republic of present day. Their legacy laid dead, and their legend lost with their current Republic masters. They held no honor among their brethren.

A smile formed over Fayde's face as he thought of the poetic justice. The 8 foot green Tof chuckled as he spoke, "They were too weak to fight for their liberty..." The simple but harsh words were highlighted by the deep bassy voice of the giant warlord. Now their pirate brethren were no better than the Republic bureaucrats that now control their resources and precious planet.

It seemed his sources were right. The local defense force that was assigned to defend the Merson station was called back to Kuat to be refitted and deployed on other tasks. The "Forge's eye" would thus be undefended for a few cruicial hours until the next Republic defense force would arrive. The Merson station wasn't heavily defended in itself, an old Medical and research station that was now refitted to be a makeshit "warehouse" for republic forces in this sector. It was rumored that the Merson station carried explosive materials and storehouses of pharmaceutics. Both of which could pull in a pretty credit when sold in the right markets to the right customers. The drugs alone on this station, if sold to the right desperate addict or a needy Hutt seeking unique pleasures, could help a modest man to buy his own fleet of space stations with his own harem of Twilek dancing girls on each one.

But Fayde wasn't particullarly interested in the bounty. He would be taking the slaves. He was commissioned by his Hutt employers to recover the slaves, a wealthy market that wasn't openly advertised by the Hutt Cartel but defiantly approved.

Fayde's ship, a 150 meter floating craft that resembling an ancient type of seafaring vessel, bore hard around one of the smaller moons of Merson. Fitted with an illegal but crude cloaking device he entered the system slowly and undetected by the local defense forces. His ship, although ancient in design, was refitted with several heavy ion and turbo-laser cannons, enough to bring down the defenses of the station and make his boarding operation. But Fayde wasn't along on his raid... he wouldn't feast alone on the banquet laid out before him by his hated Republic enemies. Fayde, sitting upon a throne like command chair, tapped his COM unit. The pirate warlord looked like a giant green demon, sitting upon his throne as he spoke into the COM system. "Brothers.... We shall begin our raid. We shall gorge on their fatty flesh and be satisfied by their bones. Remember our agreements... but above all.... make them bleed...."

Fayde tapped the COM unit again and saw the other pirates converge on different vectors. The Forge's Eye would have no hope. They will soon be kneeling before their pirate lords.....

"And so the raid began...."

Asari sat within his command chair, watching as data scrolled over several dozen screens on the bridge of his flagship. He eyed several things at once, attempting to get the most information possible at once. In his time The Pirate King had taken on dozens of fleets from dozens of different origins. Imperials, Rebels, and even other Pirates. He had fought and defeated them all, of course during those engagements he had been leading the fleet, not just been a part of it.

A smile crossed his face, it had been a long time since he had taken orders. Just this once however, he had decided not to lead the charge. This was not his raid, nor was it his fleet that was here. The Pirates that were assembled here were not lead by him, and he had only brought his flagship in support. The rest of his ship sat within Hutt Space, protecting the Pirate King's greatest investments.

Disable the Stations weapons first.” Asari said to his first mate in an off-handed tone and then turned to the view screens all around him. The Pirate Kings ship was nearly the largest here. He wondered how well this would go. In his head he began to muse about the outcomes of this, though truthfully he was far more eager to see how the other Pirates acted when they were confronted with something they were not used to...teamwork.
