Description: The FLEETCOM CS-001 station is designed to be the pinnacle of defense station technology and the heart of Protectorate naval defenses. Stationed over one of six major FLEETCOM worlds, these stations are designed to coordinate fleet movements, training exercises, resupply and repair efforts, and defense strategies throughout their sector of space. Each station is designed to by the central hub for all military ships within their sector. In order to facilitate this, each station had several dozen small hangers to accommodate dropships and starfighters, a dozen medium-sized hangers to accommodate corvettes and frigates, and six different arms to allow larger capital ships to dock.

To protect their planet, each station is armed with an impressive array of defense weapons and technologies. Dozens of tractor beams and dozens of control towers oversee the constant stream of dropships and fighters going in and out of the station. Electronic counter warfare suites keep the station's communications open while long-range communication arrays allow each station to talk with the systems under their purview. Each station also possesses a gravity well projector to use defensively, forcing approaching enemy ships to drop into real space at a farther distance than they would have otherwise intended. As well, each station has an advanced sensor suite designed to scan space for any details that could betray enemy fleet movements within the system.

After the Fringe assault at Eriadu, the Protectorate reassessed their FLEETCOM coverage and designated Eriadu as the sixth FLEETCOM world and recently commissioned the construction of the sixth station

Despite their raw power, these stations are not designed to hold a system on their own against a dedicated planetary assault force. In the event that an enemy force boards though, they will quickly find that taking the station is no easy task. Thanks to the acquisition of the rechristened Spirit of Druckenwell, each FLEETCOM station houses numerous defenses designed to purge boarding operations. Network security is broken up into several different networks to ensure remote control of the station cannot be achieved from a single remote location. The bridge houses the network access points necessary to take control of the weapon systems.

Because it's a very large station, designed to operate independent of the planet. As well, the max cargo space reflects conversion of all interior hanger bays to cargo bays. Given the ship's size, it seemed a reasonable number, compared to a dedicated bulk freighter of similar size.

The Connestoga has a much larger displacement by an order of magnitude, but this also has a much smaller hold than a billion cubic meters.
Anyways that's what I wanted to know, approved pending rpj stamp.
