On a Slaver's Trail

What she could use was a hand or two. The dark haired girl was on the trail of some slavers out in Outer Rim space. She knew that slavers existed, but that was pretty much the antithesis of what the Oh Are Sea stood for. They employed Wardens of the Sky in their space, well, not officially, but it was what happened. And this was good because Wardens got everywhere, just like the Judges of the Outer Rim. She wasn’t the latter, she heard her father was, but he was off fighting some other man’s war.

Or maybe it was his war, she didn’t know. Nor did she care that much. She was here, it was peaceful, and she was doing what was right by her. A Jedi in her own way, Kaia was ready to defend the space that the Outer Rim settled. But her primary life? That was being a salvager, an explorer, and a Warden. She had her gun, she had her ship, and she had her wits. That was all she needed.

And lately? Starting that whole bounty hunting training with one of the Guilds was doing her good. She could chase down leads, and while she might not be turning people in for the credits, but she was able to find the people who were disrupting the flow. Shaking her head she looked around the cabin. The ship really needed the iBorg upgrade, but it was all fine for now. Turning to the next chair, she got up. The Pulsar had grabbed onto the listening station with its docking claw. From there, she had Drifter pop on over and install a cable into the mainframe.

The next issue? That was the system slicing. She had a system she was working on testing for Starchaser Enterprises installed and that meant it needed testing. It was your basic computer interface, and that meant she was going to be slicing this system wide open to get the manifests of the slavers in this sector of the Coalition space.

Maybe others would like the info? Wardens and the like?

Jorco had been out doing some quick delivery work on the Outer Rim. However, on his way back he got a heads up. It was a sudden and quick blip on his sensors. A distress signal, and it wasn't too far. If there was one thing he new, it was to always investigate a distress signal. It certainly be a trap, but that was a risk he was willing to take. Taking a sharp turn, the Rodian piloted his B-Wing to the signal. After a little while he'd made it to an interesting sight.

It was a ship, but it was destroyed, one not too much bigger then his. It had a large hole blown into the side of it. Looking into this further meant he was gonna need to leave his ship for that. After a bit of wondering he decided to look further into this. It took a while, but he managed to get his emergency space suit on in the tight cockpit. He always hated space, it was too dangerous, but not enough to scare him enough into stopping. Soon he got the tether cord for the suit and ship fastened So he didn't float too far away from his ship. Then Jorco opened the cockpit.

The air inside rushed out and he unbuckled his seat belt, beginning to float out of his eat. The suit came with some very light thrust pack do you could move. Slowly and cautiously he moved towards the destroyed ship. When he was there and could look inside the ship he say that it was a transport ship. But there were gates and cells in it. No, this was a slaver ship. Some bounty hunter must've got someone wanted dead or alive. Seems that they went with the prior. Sadly it didn't seem like there was all that much to see so he moved back. Going through the process of getting back into his ship from space. After new breathable air came in he took off the space helmet, and was ready to continue his journey.

She knew that it was a risky thing to do, chasing down slavers. But she knew it was what she needed to do. She needed to keep people free. It was what she swore as a Warden, and as a Starchaser. The latter included doing what was needed for the causes she put herself behind. That meant ORC and the people she was flying with. It meant everyone she cared about. The worst part was she was adding her bounty hunter skillset to this.

That meant she was going to be some crazy tracker one day, she hoped. And maybe that would help out here in the Outer Rim Coalition. She was working on slicing the listening station, and seeing what she could get from it. Could she ask for the data? Probably. Would she get it? She figured in 3 to 6 standard months. This was a bit easier.

Running a hand through her heavy, dark hair, she kept working at the terminal. She was running through the brute force attack on the listening beacon and nodded. This could be useful. A few… damn, firewalls. Ok, running the virus around another system and…

Why was she getting locked out? She shook her head and looked at Drifter. “Make a note of that, ok? Need to strengthen our connection. And the virus, I think. Need to work on that code.” She nodded. Was going to need an actual hacker. She knew she had one at the Corellian Dawn. Someone had to.

Another few moments of hitting the keys and she nodded. There it was. “Go unhook us.” She ordered to her droid, or, really, requested.

She had a new location.

The "Just Visiting" flew clipping an asteroid as it flew in the Outer Rim. Tavi had just gotten another job from his "Benefactor". At first Tavi was hesitant to take it, as he was training as a Keeper of the Free Worlds Coalition. But Exceptions can be made..... Apparently some slaver's had pissed off the boss, and interfered with his business. Tavi wasn't going to ask what kind of business, or what they did. He was just given one order before the transmission cut.

Find them, and kill them. Send a message

So Tavi had reported in that he was going to take a few personal days and hunt some slaver's, for kicks and intel. They bought it, so here he was. The boss had radioed in the coordinates of a listening post, that could provide the location of the slavers. It was to his surprise that when he finally came upon the listening station's location, that it looked like someone else had beaten him already. A ship were already in orbit. Tavi sighed and got on his open comms.

"Hello my name is Tavi Riley, Keeper of the Free Worlds Coalition. If you don't respond to this hail in 1 minute, and convince me your not pirates, slavers, or scum.. I'm going to start firing." Tavi said as the "Just Visiting" got into position.
