Old friends in a new Era. (Open to all SJO)

Voss

Norin had come to Voss for a very specific reason. To check up on an old friend. He did know for sure if this was going to be the right place but it had the highest probably of being it. The last time he had seen the old soldier was an Alderaan in the old stomping grounds. He had been looking for a new home at the time but wanted to take a minute to visit the family before he moved on. Valkren had been there to presumably doing the same thing.

Rather than fly himself Norin had taken public transportation landing in the main Starport. After making it through customs and security which unfortunately saw his blaster confiscated he looked around for an information terminal to get his bearings. After a minute he moved away moving further into the city.

After about ten or fifteen minutes he stopped who looked like somebody that looked official.

"Excuse me Sir apologies for the interruption. I am hoping you could help me. I am looking for a friend of mine. Valkren Calderon and I heard he lived out this way. If not could you point me in the right direction to somebody who might know?"

Norin knew it was a shot in the dark but it didn't hurt. If nothing else he could take a few days and enjoy a little rest and relaxation. He had heard Voss was a nice world and it wouldn't hurt to see if the rumors were true.

Norin had a stroke of luck, as the man he had questioned about Calderon happened to be an Antarian Ranger that was enjoying some R and R off-base. The soldier simply blinked at the sudden question, eyeing the man up for a moment to simply asses for a threat the best he could.

"Over on the Silver Campus." He'd point in the general direction, expecting the man to almost know the directions. "The colonel will either be in his office at Ranger HQ, or in the barracks at this time."

-Ranger Command Center-
Valkren was rubbing his temples gently to attempt to sooth a headache he had just received. The young officer had found a seat behind his desk for several hours now today, making an effort to go through as much of his paperwork and recruit checks as possible in one sitting. Not being a fan of pencil-pushing what-so-ever, it was a struggle for the coffee-fueled soldier to power through the busy work. Yet it was work that had to be done.

He'd move a hand from his temple to rub the bridge of his nose, yawning as he leaned back in his chair. Work like this made him want to return to field ops as soon as possible, but unfortunately every operation meant more and more work for him to do post-mission. It was work just to be in the field as much as he used to and do his part with the leadership, but it was work he'd take on his shoulders with a smile.

Norin nodded pointing in the same direction as the man.

"Silver Campus............Ranger HQ? Ok great thank you."

Norin took off in that direction. After a few minutes he paused by another public terminal to get a more concrete idea of where this Silver Campus was. He figured at least once he got in the general area he would begin seeing uniformed troops on guard. Seeing as how Ranger HQ was there. Norin made his way further along as larger building came into few and the civilian crowds began to thin out. The number of other people though increased as he expected. People who even in civilian clothing still screamed military. It was in this area that Norin stopped somebody else.

"Excuse me Sir I am looking for Ranger HQ. I was told it was in this area."

Norin waited to see what response he got this time. Maybe he would get just another point in the general direction or maybe something a little more concrete. Anything was possible. Although the feeling in the pit of his stomach made him wish he had stopped for some food before trying to find Ranger HQ.

This man seemed much more loose, the obviously off-duty soldier did the same hand motion, pointing towards a set of buildings with some increased security about it. Men in security uniforms patrolled about.

"Second building ahead. You'll probably have to check in with security. Office is somewhere in there."

------
Valkren had all but given up on the work in front of him, instead he was leaning back in his office chair, gripping his service cap in one of his hands as his gaze took him out the window to his right. The colonel was growing anxious, sitting there and just flipping through paperwork. Every moment spent here in his office was a wasted second that could be spent doing something that matters.

Did that thought actually go through his head? He wanted to be deployed. It had been awhile since he held so much desire to be back in the field..In the trenches where the everyday risk of losing your own life filled soldiers with adrenaline and forced them to be the best men or women they could be.

He cleared his head, as he knew there were thousands of Rangers out at their respected posts that would give anything for shore leave, or to even return to a safer location. Valkren had to be thankful for the time he was designated to spend on Voss this go around, and he had to admit that it was nice to be much closer to his mother and younger sister, their new farmstead actually being on Voss.

Valkren averted his watch from the window, returning to the documents before him. His eyes focused on who had previously checked through the set of recruit files before they reached him.

'Arisa Yune'

The soldier cocked a brow as he opened the file momentarily to get started on his own review, before closing it mere seconds later to look at the name once more. It had been awhile since himself and Arisa had taken the time to just sit down and talk, and since Ord Radama, having a moment to chat with her was something he greatly desired. After pondering a thought for awhile, he'd bring up a holo-screen on his desk, inspecting his schedule for the day.

"Lowder. Can you connect with Grandmaster Yune, see if she's busy?" He questioned after taking the time to bring up a transmission to one of his assistants and Intel specialists that usually traveled with him during non-combat scenarios. He knew that Arisa was usually very busy, being the Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi and everything..Yet, he still felt as if he should make an attempt.

Norin smiled and nodded to the man.

"Ok great thank you."

Norin made his way over to the second building that had been pointed out to him. As he approached the gate Norin reached into his pocket and pulled out his ID. It was the current one that still had him listed as a Commander for the Alderaanian Defense Fleet. While he was technically seperated since Alderaan had been reformed into the FWC it was still valid for another year. He extended the ID to the guard.

"Norin Kellarov to see Colonel Valkren Calderon please."

Norin didn't bother adding his rank in there. It was not needed in this case and besides it was on his ID even though a Defense Fleet rank would mean very if anything at all to the Silver Jedi. Besides he was just there to see an old friend if he had time to entertain guests. If not he would at least be able to set up something for later.
